I don't see any reason they stopped supporting Windows 10 other that being lazy.   I spent almost 40 years in application programming and we went through lots of hardware and software operating systems on mainframe systems.  Later years, I did only system software work.  Other PC applications are working fine with no changes required.  Unless TT is getting down and using some core features that are only in Windows 11 operating system, there isn't any reason not to support Windows 10 And even if they are getting into that code, they could work around it.  But I don't think they want to support Windows 10 for some other reason than technical- it must be a marketing thing.  Maybe getting a kick back of some kind from hardware vendors?    Anyway, I don't care, can just use another product or take it and get it done free.  There are several places that will do us old  people's taxes for free, they think we aren't smart enough to do it ourselves.
I get through step 5 but there is no prompt or option for Its Deductible.

To check on regular tax refund status via automated phone, call 800-829-1954.   Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities.  There is no rule as to which one will come in first or how long it will be between their arrival in your account.   TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.      First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.     You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:    https://www.irs.gov/refunds   To track your state refund:     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr   If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/refunds-take-longer-others/L14YlqFrH_US_en_US?uid=lexdr7zh . https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/irs-refund-taking-longer-21-days/L2vRAJbdU_US_en_US?uid=lexe7lst

The IRS does not call you---EVER--- and they do not email you.   If you are getting calls or emails that claim to be from the IRS they are scams.  Do not give any information to anyone who calls you or emails you and says they are from the IRS.    The IRS will only contact you by mailing a letter to the address you used on your tax return.   Check your online account with the IRS: https://www.irs.gov/payments/your-online-account

I predict that TT desktop will be dropped in 2026 because of the dismal 2025 sales.  Sales will be poor for 2025 because of their forced upgrade to W11 policy.  So they'll justify forcing people to online by saying the demand for desktop was low.  It's a pretty brain-dead way to run a company.

What do you need or have?   The actual Form 4562 that is filed with your return is just a Summary of the Depreciation for the current year and only lists out the new assets and not the prior the items. You may have a 4562 Depreciation and Amortization Report which does list all the items including fully depreciated items.  If you don't have the 4562 Depreciation and Amortization Report or need more info you need the Asset Life History. The history is only available in the Desktop program not the Online version. If you are using the Online version you would have to download your .tax20yy file and open it in the desktop program.

Only certain paid tax pros  using professional tax software can e-file past year amended returns. You cannot e-file an amended past year return that you prepared yourself using TurboTax.  Your 1040X must be printed, signed and dated in ink, and then you need to mail it in.  Use a mailing service like certified mail so you will know the IRS received it, since you will have a long wait for it to be processed.   Do not expect quick results from amending. It can take four months or more for the IRS to process an amended return.     You can watch for information here: https://www.irs.gov/Filing/Individuals/Amended-Returns-(Form-1040-X)/Wheres-My-Amended-Return-1
