You can't get the efile verification code by text. It's an email verification not a phone verification. If you have trouble getting the code in your email, then you may be able to verify inside your Intuit Account settings. This is for Online TurboTax in a browser; navigation is different in the mobile app. In the left menu column scroll way down to Intuit Account. Then once in the account choose tab Sign In & Security. See if your email address has a tiny link beside it that says "not verified". If so, click that to verify. Perhaps once you verify it there in the account settings, it won't ask you to verify it again when you are efiling. Or if you no longer have access to that email address, you can update the email address that's used for notification purposes in that same section.

You can enter anything you wish in the occupation field that describes what you did for most of the year. If you consider yourself to still be a student, then you can use that or you could just say you were a freelancer. This information is used for statistical purposes more than anything else, with a few exceptions, so it is really your choice of what to enter.

You can go to Amazon.com and get a refurbished laptop with Windows 11 for $300. That’s what I did. I now have two new laptops. An expensive one from Costco and a cheaper one from Amazon refurbished. It’s working. Not what TurboTax said but it’s a work around.

If you were able to upload your tax documents to TurboTax, then you should be able to download a copy of the documents by logging in to your brokerage account at Schwab.
Unless you chose to receive your tax documents electronically, you should also have received a paper copy in the mail. If neither option works, then you should contact Schwab to request a replacement copy.

If he is a full time student then he could be a dependent under the Qualifying Child rules
If he is not a full time student then he could be a dependent under the Qualifying Relative rules.
To be a Qualifying Child -
1. The child must be your son, daughter, stepchild, foster child, brother, sister, half brother, half sister, stepbrother, stepsister, or a descendant of any of them. 2. The child must have lived with you for more than half of the year. Temporary absences while away at college are considered living with you. 4. If the child meets the rules to be a qualifying child of more than one person, you must be the person entitled to claim the child as a qualifying child. 6.
