You can only use your QBI carryover loss to offset QBI. Your loss will continue to carryforward indefinitely until you generate qualified business income to offset.

@tenniseric98 , IMHO -- these are income to you.  This is because the entity giving you these  get to write off these as expenses.  However, if the value  of the  gift is under de-minimis  (  mostly these  are like  #25 or under   but you should look at the instructions of the applicable form ), you don't recognize this as  taxable income.   Note that the general rule is all income is taxable  unless specifically excluded by the code  AND all expenses are not deductible unless specifically allowed by the code.

Are you following the steps to amend your return using TurboTax?   The amended return will tell you if you owe or will get a refund based on the Amended return as if the original refund was received (or the original tax was paid).  Could it be that the original return shows a larger refund than the Amended return meaning that you will need to pay back some of the original refund?

So you haven't recently attempted to install it?   This is a long shot, but sometimes long shots are successful.  😁     Are you using Windows, and could you have an incompletely installed Windows Update either installing in the background or waiting to be installed?   Or is some other software trying to update/install?

Tried to efile both Fed and NY state Trust returns  simultaneously but Turbo Tax says I can’t efile my NYS Trust return using Turbo Tax because my return has withholding and that I must mail them in.  If so, can I still efile my Trust return for Federal?   If so, what are the steps to do this separately?   TIA - Twam

Be sure you are not inside a business to enter the form. You need to be on the main income screen. The online and desktop programs are a little different. The key points are that you have to mark: no intent to earn money  mark that the income is only for this tax year. Otherwise the program will think it is recurring income and a business. mark no to like main job    Add one more set of instructions that contains the key elements you need to locate and answer from above. Log in to your return. Go to income Scroll down to Other Common Income or show Less Common Income Select Income from 1099-MISC Edit/ Start/ Revisit Enter income -the income should be in box 3, Enter tax if any withheld in box 4 Continue Describe the reason - continue None of these apply Continue Did this involve main job? No  Continue How often do you get? Got in 2024  Continue Intent to earn money? No Continue Do you have another? No Continue @nseelen If you are using the desktop version, you can see it in Forms mode.
I followed all available advice (do not import data -enter manually, restart TT, enter 0.00 in all empty fields etc., but keep getting the "needs review" prompt. Any new ideas of how to get over this?

You can use TurboTax Business to prepare a Form 1065 - but that is a business only return.   You still need a personal tax product to prepare your personal taxes on Form 1040.    If you have a K-1 from a partnership or multimember LLC, that gets entered with your personal taxes on Form 1040.  In that situation, you would not need TurboTax Business.      Where do I enter a Schedule K-1 that I received?   Do you own a partnership or multi member LLC that you need to prepare a business return for?   Or do you just need to include a K-1 from a partnership or multimember LLC on your personal tax return?   Or both?     What type of entity is my business?

I'm trying to download Turbo Tax 2024 through the usual product key route. I get to the License Agreement part and Install part... but then I get the following prompt "Another installation is in progress. You must complete that installation before continuing this one."    I searched for some resolutions thinking it may be my computer, but I'm able to download other software but not Turbo Tax. Anybody else experience the same issue???   Thanks in advance! Alan
