That deduction should be automatic once you enter the pension income in the federal section of TurboTax. You must be a minimum of 59 and half years old to qualify. I suggest you look on your federal return to insure that your pension is showing as taxable on line 5(b) of Form 1040, if not then it would not be deducted on your state return:   To view your form 1040 and schedule 1 to 3:   Choose Tax Tools from your left menu bar in TurboTax Online while working in your program Choose Tools Choose View Tax Summary See the Preview my 1040 option in the left menu bar and click on it Choose the Back option in the left menu bar when you are done

If your state withholdings are not being sent to your state tax return in TurboTax you can try the steps listed below.   Go back to your W-2 and make sure that the two-letter state abbreviation (e.g., NY, CA) is correctly entered in Box 15. If this is blank or incorrect, TurboTax  cannot pass the tax amount to the state tax return. Verify that all boxes (15-17) are in TurboTax correctly. If you are using a TurboTax Desktop program, try switching  to Forms Mode by clicking on Forms in the top right corner of your TurboTax screen. On the left side of your TurboTax screen find your Form W-2 and manually verify that the state tax-withheld amount appears on your State Return. Delete your W-2, then log out, clear your browser cache, and  log back in. Enter your Form W-2 manually. When you do this, make sure the correct state name is selected from the dropdown menu. Don't type it in. To delete a Form W-2 if you used TurboTax Online you can:   Click on "Tax Tools" in the left panel of your TurboTax screen Select  "Tools" Click on "Delete a Form" Scroll down the list of your forms to find your Form W2 Click on the trash can to the right of your form to delete it To delete a Form W-2 If you used TurboTax Desktop, you can:   Click on "Forms" in the top right of your TurboTax screen to switch to "Forms Mode" In your left panel of your TurboTax screen find Form W-2 Click on "Delete Form" at the bottom of the form Click on "Yes" to confirm the deletion To get back to your W-2 screens in TurboTax you can:   Click on "Search" in the top right of your TurboTax screen. Type "W-2" in the search bar. Click on the link "Jump to W-2" And select to Type it in Myself   Click here for How do I manually enter my W-2? You are correct to report as part-year resident of Colorado and part-year resident of Oregon.   The Colorado 104PN Part-Year Resident/Nonresident Tax Calculation Schedule uses a MM/YY date convention rather than a MM/DD/YY date convention.   This date convention does not accommodate the details of your tax life.   In TurboTax, in the Colorado state income tax return, at the screen Review Colorado Dates of Residency, report 01/2025 through 11/2025.

If you have already Efiled and your return has been Accepted.  Sign In, and on the Home page, scroll down to 'Tax Returns and Docs'.  If you haven't Efiled yet, with your return open, go to Tax Tools > Tools > Print Center in the left-side menu, after you have paid for your return, or from the FILE section.  This is the same whether 'Full Service' or not.    It's best to 'Save as PDF' and select 'All Forms and Worksheets'.   @ADFlamm
Try it yourself. Selecting autism does absolutely nothing to the refund or due number

@ johnnyspacek  asked:  "What is the taxable income for the tax amount amount of $1,068.24 at the rate of 6%?"   There's not a good way to figure your taxable income in reverse.  There are too many variables including filing status and types of income.    There must be more to your question.   Where do those figures come from, and why are you asking your question that way?

Thank you for your explanation because I had read the same advice in other places but the form 8606 is very confusing to me even though I have copies of previous 8606s that were filed with TurboTax in previous years when I had contributed to my Traditional IRA and converted them to backdoor Roth IRAs.    My situation is I filed my 2025 taxes in February 2026 but then I realized I forgot to contribute to a traditional IRA for 2025. However, I am aware I could still contribute to 2025 before April 15, 2026; it just needs to be reported on form 8606 and it can be sent after the fact, correct?   I contributed $7000 to my traditional IRA 2 weeks ago and converted it to a Roth IRA. I also understand that the ROTH conversion should appear on my 2026 tax return next year.    So, is it correct then that the most important thing right now is that someone like me fills out 8606 with Part 1 showing a contribution on Lines 1 and 3, and then on Line 14 shows that same contribution? Parts 2 and 3 do not seem to apply to my situation until next year. I am filling out the form and leaving most everything else blank. I want to make sure that I put my $7000 contribution on the correct lines of form 8606.   thank you.
If I manually add it in VA's Schedule ADJ then it comes with code 99 and in different section than "Subtractions Income (US obligations / securities) ".

This same problem is happening as I file my IL return in 2026.  How do I fix this so I can e-file?  Odd part is I had no issue filing for another state (I have dual state status this year because I moved to IL in June). Any help is greatly appreciated.  This is for a desktop version that I bought through Costco for my Mac.
For 2025, line 5 of Sched K doesn't have an option for mortgage interest received, just bank interest and such.  So where does it go ?

As it is not impacting her taxes, in spite of additional amount, she got as refund for expense she incurred,  showing up on 1098-T, will keep the filing as-is. Correct? A.
