If the Social Security benefits is the Only income to be reported on the tax return and there is no federal income taxes being withheld, then there is no reason or need to file a tax return. Unless you also received a Form 1095-A for your health insurance through one of the State Marketplace Exchanges or from healthcare.gov then you must file a tax return.

@pk Thank you very much. that makes a lot of sense, but what threw me off was that I keep receiving every 3 months a letter from the IRS stating that "we need more time to response to your inquiry" and they give themselves 90 days and then comes another similar letter. But now after reading your post, that makes sense.  I appreciate your response. Thank you.
What additional line on a W-2 are you referring to?   No one can see your screen or your W-2 so we have no idea what you are upset about.

the answer to your question is it's clearly a business decision, they determined there wouldn't be enough users left on Win 10 to make it worth their while to support their s/w on an end-of-life OS.  they don't owe anyone software.  they could pull the plug on Mac any year now for example if not desktop s/w entirely.
I am not upgrading to do it yourself deluxe for one additional line on my W-2 that will earn me $110 but cost me $50 to upgrade. Nice try Turbo Tax but you just lost a long time customer.

When you start a new joint return, you can only transfer one of your past year returns, so choose the most complex one to transfer.  The information for the other spouse must all be entered from scratch.   Keep a record of how to access that old return just in case you need to look something up, etc.   TurboTax and the IRS save returns for seven years.       How to start a new joint return   You will not be able to merge two previous TT account to start your new joint return.  You can transfer ONE of your 2024 returns into a new 2025 joint return, so choose the most complicated one.  The other spouse’s information needs to be entered manually.  The first name you enter will be the “primary” taxpayer——and in subsequent years you need to keep the names in that order—do not try to change the order of the names.     When you enter the primary spouse’s information in My Info, you have to answer the question "Were you married?"  If you click the button for Married, then a drop down will appear that asks, "Do you want to file this return together with your spouse?"  Then you choose YES to file a joint return.  You enter your spouse's information into My Info.  Whenever you are entering income information there should then be a spot for you and for your spouse's income information.  WATCH for the names as you enter income on the screens.  Or when you click to add income it will prompt you to choose which spouse had the income.   When you prepare a joint return you include all the information for both spouses on the SAME tax return.  Include all of your personal information, all of your income from every source, all dependents (if any), all credits and deductions for both of you.  You get ONE refund with both names on it.     Best Wishes!

Yes you only file one Joint  return with both your income on it.    Yes transfer from your husband's return to start 2025.  Your 2024 return  won't transfer so you will have to enter all your 2025 income.  You don't need to add your 2024 info unless it asks for it as you go along or you have any loss carryovers or something to enter.  When you start 2025 with his info you go to My Info and change his profile to Married.  Then it will open up to enter your name and personal info.     Then when you enter any forms like W2s or 1099s be sure to pick who it is for. That is very important. When you get married you are considered married for the whole year even if you got married on Dec 31. How do I add my 2024 info, i.e. 1099's, pension? And do I add it to what turbo tax populated for his 2024? Keep it simple:)
Wait for software updates -- the software is not yet ready for the overtime tax break entries.
When is the program available to update on turbo tax?

@user17672869738 , I understand your situation. On the question of  FICA/SECA --- absent a totalization agreement   between US and your spouse's home country ( please tell me the  country or you can  google or visit Social Security Admin  regarding "totalization agreements), she will have to pay SECA -- she is considered  self-employed for purposes of SSA and Medicare. Just for your reading pleasure , please see the statute here -- applicable section is 6013(g)--> 26 U.S. Code § 6013 - Joint returns of income tax by husband and wife | U.S. Code | US Law | LII / Legal Information Institute   Is there more I can do for you ?
