Boxes 5, 6, and 7 on Form 1099-NEC (both the version released in December 2025 and the draft version for 2026) are related fields regarding the state and need to be entered consistently or not at all.   Box 4 shows the Federal income tax withholding. If there was no Federal withholding shown on the form, leave it blank.   Please clarify your issue if different.   If the program seems to be caught in a loop, try these steps:   Clear your browser cache and cookies Log out of TurboTax Restart your device Log back in   @watusi

If you do not see the QBI, check if:   The QBI deduction may be zero if your Total Taxable Income is zero.  Even though you have $29,000 in business profit, the QBI deduction is calculated as the lesser of: 20% of your Qualified Business Income, OR 20% of your Total Taxable Income (minus capital gains).  For the 2025 tax year, the Standard Deduction for married couples rose to $31,500. If your total income (Business + W-2s) minus deductions falls below zero, there is no "Taxable Income" to apply the 20% deduction against.   OR   TurboTax must aggregate all your businesses to calculate QBI.  If you had businesses with losses, they must first offset the income before QBI is applied.

Do you mean how to you claim a tuition credit (fill out form 8863) without using a 1098-T?   If you were issued a 1098-T, you DO want to use it to claim the tuition credit.  Otherwise, you enter your information in the same place as people that do have a 1098-T. When asked if you got one, answer no. On the next screen say yes to qualifying for an exception.    In TurboTax (TT), enter at: Federal Taxes Tab (Personal for H&B version) Deductions & Credits -Scroll down to: --Education   --Education Expenses and Scholarships (1098-T)

I provided the shortcut method above to go directly to the section for estimated tax payments made for 2025 in Online TurboTax.   If you want to use regular navigation, here's how.  So between the 2 methods, you should be able to use one or both of them.    When you click in the left column on Federal and then the tab for Deductions & Credits and in the dropdown choose the Deductions & Credits Summary, it may take you to a page called "Your Tax Breaks".   That shows the "Tax Breaks", i.e., deductions, that someone has already worked on this year or that TurboTax is expecting from what was entered last year.   Lower on that same screen should be a button or link for "Add more tax breaks" or "Show more tax breaks" or similar wording.   When clicked, then the screen should expand, and all the deduction topics are displayed including "Estimates and Other Taxes Paid."  Then that topic can be expanded further to get the subtopic Estimated Tax Payments.

For Online TurboTax, here's a tool that should get you directly to the section for estimated tax payments made for 2025.  I've also provided an alternate navigation method in a comment that follows this one.   With the return open, go to the left menu column and click on TAX TOOLS, then the subtab TOOLS. In the Tools Center choose the blue button Topic Search. In the topic search line enter the phrase estimated tax payments without quotes. Make the selection in the list (it may already be highlighted), and either double-click it or click the GO button. Next screen is Estimates and Other Income Taxes Paid. Use the subtopic Estimated Tax Payments. Choose the appropriate category and tax year you are reporting (Federal, state, local) and click START or Revisit. NOTE:  Before filing, make sure your Federal estimated tax payments correctly show on the Form 1040, Line 26, and that any state estimated tax payments (if applicable) show up on your state return.
Choose Other not classified if  you meant IRA, if not please clarify the entry.  If you do not know, please ask your employer.

Why do you want to delete the "tuition amount"?   One common reason, you don't qualify for any actual credit and don't want to pay for the TurboTax upgrade called for by entering the 1098-T.   If you don't qualify for the Lifetime Learning Credit,  or want to eliminate it, you'll have to delete the forms that are related to education credits.  If you see form 8863 and form 1098-T, delete them. Click here for instructions     Here's a post on the five main points on the  1098-T: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/college-education/discussion/re-what-do-i-do-with-form-1098t/01/3760212#M63114

My dad qualifies as my dependent as he lives with us and we financially support him fully. Using TurboTax Premiere Online. I answered that he is a parent, a US citizen, that he lived with us the whole year, and that we paid for more than half of his living expenses. However, on the generated 1040, "And in the U.S." is not marked for him. It is marked for our children.

Follow the steps below to enter your Form SSA-1099 and use the lump sum election method in TurboTax to allocate your income to the prior years. You will need information from your tax returns for 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. Go to the Social Security benefits screen under Wages & Income. On the screen Did you receive Social Security or Railroad Retirement benefits in 2025? answer Yes and select Continue. On the next screen, check the box beside Social Security benefits (Form SSA-1099), then enter the amounts from your form(s) in the boxes provided. Select Continue and follow the onscreen instructions. On the screen, Did you receive a lump sum payment? answer Yes and enter the Year and the amount from your 2025 SSA-1099 on the next screens. (This initiates the lump-sum election calculation to reduce your tax bill). If you have Form SSA-1099 for that year, you will enter the amount on the next screen, Now, let’s look at your 20xx form. Follow the instructions on the next screens regarding your income and adjustments from your tax return for that year.      If you didn’t file a tax return for that year, enter zeroes. On the next screen, Here’s your lump-sum payment info, select Add another lump-sum payment and continue until you have added all of the years that you received the lump-sum payment for. Refer to the TurboTax articles Where do I enter an SSA-1099, SSA-1099-SM, or SSA-1099-R-OP1? and What is a lump-sum Social Security payment? for additional information.
