Yeah, I just finished printing the forms and pulling the guide from the IRS (like I've been doing since the 80s) and did not find an issue that would trigger a rejection. I didn't review everything but the I went over the HSA forms pretty thorough. I'm pretty sure I can go to a competitor and get this done with no issues. Full disclosure, having changed Jobs and putting in two different HSA's I discovered I over contributed by $100 for the year. I answered all of that correctly and decided to ignore the added 6% on that over contribution. But no, I still get rejected and nothing in any TT Knowledge article is helpful at all. Sigh!!! So again, why am I paying the price for this?

Hello, I received a promotional email multiple times to switch from the Desktop version to TurboTax Online and when I finished my entire return the promotional values are not honored. The email contains a link that when clicked brings me to a TurboTax webpage (there is no service code anywhere in the email). The webpage states that using TurboTax Do It Yourself Premium Online will cost $59 for1 Federal return with e-file. In addition, it says State Return is $24 with e-file. The text regarding the state return price can be clicked to open a pop-up window which states if filing in multiple states, then each state is the same discounted price (should be $24/state). Also, the fine print in the email and webpage says that the discount expires on April 15, 2026. *See photos* I have called TurboTax support multiple times and they are not helpful. I even supposedly talked to a supervisor that said they cannot do anything about it because I do not have a service code. The supervisor and other representatives told me to "clear and start over", to see if when starting over and using the email link plus the link on the webpage that opens to start my return will resolve the issue. I did this a few hours ago and completed the return for a second time and I am not receiving the promotional pricing. I have seen on reddit that people have had similar situations with different TurboTax promotions requiring them to use a browser that does not have ad-blockers and/or anti-tracking. I am wondering if anyone knows if this works because this will mean that I will have to "clear and start over" a second time and fill out my return for a third time.

I was able to fix it! I had gone through the wizard several times entering the same info to no avail. I think the sum function is not being triggered for the combination of fields i entered expenses for. I had to enter a manual adjustment, it still showed zero for expenses. I re-went through the wizard again entering the exact same info, then it properly showed the expenses. I un-checked the manual expense option and the expenses were finally properly summed for the property.

Can you explain more? You can use a QCD to cover the RMD. When it asks how much is the RMD you can put the amount from the 1099R box 1.

@pk I'm a US Citizen. Used to live in CA but left a few years ago to Mx. I do freelance design. No clients in Mx, all are in the US. I earn in USD. I file 1040 + CA 540NR because I have an SMLLC in CA supporting my CA based clients, so source + benefit of the work is in CA, hence my understanding is I have to pay CA tax for this work. Thus why I do FEIE for Federal, but add it back for CA.

I am seeing this same issue. I have insurance, real estate taxes, and mortgage interest on my rental property with the property being occupied the entire year and it is entering zero for my property expenses. As a result, it's showing I have more profit than what I actually had. There is a bug!

@leeleses only the medical costs that exceed 7.5% of your income (line 11) can be deducted. On $47,000 of income which includes $35,000 of SS income, it won't matter. Only $2,250 of your SS is considered taxable income, so the total adjusted gross income is $14,250. Since that is less than the standard deduction, there is no tax in any event. Itemizing is not going to change the result.

For my 2025 return: My wife had received a W2 from her city agency. We are not residents of the city and hence have to complete NYC form 1127. However, her employment with the city ended in October 2024. She did get some remaining wages in early 2025. And hence the city agency sent her a W2 form to show income. I did not receive NYC form 1127. Is there a reason for that? Do i need to complete this form for tax year 2025?

Importing my Fidelity 1099 using Payer as National Financial Services. Turbo tax has a headline to use "WealthScape Investor Id" Believe it's targeting the incorrect company. Worked last month with no issues. Input my Fidelity Userid & PW - fails each time. I can directly login to Fidelity. Using Google Chrome browser. Uninstalling Dashlane Addon, see if that might be the issue.

Hi, I’m currently trying to file a New York State non-resident return (IT-203) and ran into an issue with how my income is being reported. For my W-2 job, I have three types of income, all of which are included in my federal W-2 total: Base pay RSUs (liquid assets) Bonus On my federal return, the total income correctly reflects all three components. However, for my New York State return, my understanding is: RSUs and bonus (items 2 and 3) should be reported on IT-203-F Only base pay (item 1) should be included on IT-203 In prior years using TurboTax Desktop, I was able to adjust or edit the W-2 allocation when preparing the New York return. This year, I don’t see an option to modify the W-2 amounts carried over from the federal return. As a result, 1 + 2 + 3 is included in line 1o on IT-203-B instead of just item 1. Are there any workarounds or recommended approaches to correctly allocate this income for New York State? Thank you for your help.

Just remember you can only deduct medical that is OVER 7.5% of your AGI. So that will reduce your Medical deduction. And then you would only be getting the benefit of the amount of itemized deductioins that puts you over the 16,100 Standard Deduction.

Same rejection message: TY25_HSA. Rejected 3 times so far. I'm at a loss how to fix. I've reviewed the 8889 form and find no error. No over contribution 2025 or 2024. Don't know how to fix.

That’s fine with the IRS but your bank might have different rules.
