I put in $7000 to my Traditional IRA account on 12/22/25, then transferred all of it to Roth IRA account on 12/23/25. Apparently $0.65 dividend accrued on my Traditional IRA account on 12/31/25 . I realized this on 1/5/26 (new year at this point), and I immediately proceeded to convert that $0.65 from Traditional IRA to Roth IRA on 1/5/26. My question: how will this impact how I I go about doing my tax return for year 2025 and 2026? (Given my balance in Traditional IRA was not $0 at end of 2025, how does this affect the pro rata rule? consequence?) Is my tax filing going to be complicated for tax filing of 2025 AND 2026?

How to Access prior year online returns https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/prior-year-return/help/how-do-i-access-my-prior-year-return/00/27010 If you can't get the side menus to open up to access the prior year..... You need to start entering some basic Personal Info in 2025 for the side menu to open up. Just continue a little ways into 2025. I had to go though about 12 screens. If you used the Desktop CD/Download program then the only copy is on your computer and not saved or stored online. So you need to make and keep your own backups. Or request a transcript from the IRS https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript Or get a copy of your return using form 4506 https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf

SAVE YOUR TAX RETURNS !
EVERY year before mid-October you should save a copy of your tax return as a pdf and print a copy of it for your records. That way you will not be searching online frantically when you need it for a lender, FAFSA forms, your next tax return, etc.

No. The Free Edition can only be used for current year 2025 returns.
You cannot change the tax year. The current online program is for 2025 only. Only a 2025 return can be prepared online and only a 2025 return can be e-filed.
Online preparation and e-filing for 2022, 2023, and 2024 is permanently closed.
Note: The desktop software you need to prepare the prior year return must be installed/downloaded to a full PC or Mac. It cannot be used on a mobile device.
To file a return for a prior tax year
If you need to prepare a return for 2022, 2023, or 2024 you can purchase and download desktop software to do it, then print, sign, and mail the return(s)
https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/
You may also want to explore purchasing the software from various retailers such as Amazon, Costco, Best Buy, Walmart, Sam’s, etc.
Remember to prepare your state return as well—if you live in a state that has a state income tax.
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/state-taxes/contact-state-department-revenue/L9qVToi02_US_en_US?uid=m6e06um0
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
Refunds for tax years 2021 or earlier have been forfeited and will not be paid to you even if shown on the tax return form. But if you owe tax due, you will still have to pay, and you will be billed later for the interest and penalties owed. TurboTax will not calculate the penalties or interest. That will be done by the IRS/state after they receive your return with your payment of the tax due as shown on the tax form(s).

It's working right for me on Windows Home & Business. What's on the next screen "Let's find your biggest deduction"? Is the Sales tax deduction box checked? I entered $3,200 sales tax on a car and it said my Sales tax deduction is 4,400. When I delete the car I get 1,200 for the IRS table. You might need to keep going though all the screens to the end of the section.

Very sorry for your loss. For the year that your spouse died, you can still file a joint return. That way, you will get the married filing jointly standard deduction of $31,500 (+ $1600 for each spouse 65 or older) which will lower the amount of income you are taxed on.
In My Info, you will need to indicate that your spouse died. When her name is in My Info, there is a screen early in the interview that asks "Do any of these apply to [name] ?’” where you will do that, and then a drop down will appear where you can enter the date she passed.
If you have qualifying dependent children you will be able to file as a qualifying surviving spouse (QSS) for the next two years after this tax return. Post back if you need further help.

There is no web page that just has W-2's.
TurboTax does not have your W-2. W-2’s come from employers. There is not a federal or national website that provides W-2’s. If your employer is partnered with TurboTax to allow the W-2 data to be imported into the software you can do that---but you need the actual W-2 so that you can enter the EIN and the amount from box 1 to import the other data from the W-2---which just saves you the little bit of keying in of the other information.
Every 2025 W-2 that you received must be reported on your 2025 tax return, even if they are for small amounts. Remember that each one of those W-2’s has your Social Security number on it, and that income was reported to the IRS by the employer. You do not want trouble with the IRS for under-reporting your income or have your refund delayed by having missing income.
ALL of your W-2’s must be entered on the SAME tax return.
Go to Federal>Wages & Income to enter a W-2.
After you enter the first one, you click Add Another W-2.
W-2's come from your employer, and they have until January 31 to issue it. Some employers allow you to import the W-2 through the software, but for security reasons you still need information from the actual W-2 to import it. Some employers have payroll sites that will have your W-2. You might need to phone, text, drop in, email and/or snail mail an old employer to make sure they know where to send your W-2.

And….SAVE YOUR OWN W-2! TURBOTAX DOES NOT SAVE IT FOR YOU. TurboTax will not have a copy of it in your account and will not have an image even if you snapped a photo or imported it. It is up to you to save it for your own records as stated on the back of the W-2.
