If what you originally entered is correct, you won't be able to e-file. There's probably a data mismatch at the government, a dependent that's already been claimed, or some other situation beyond your control that prevents your return from being e-filed. In this case, your only option would be to print and mail in your return. This article will give you instruction on how to print and mail your return.    Additional reject instruction here.

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

Yes, you should re-enter your credit card information to resubmit your tax return if it was rejected, but you likely do not need to worry about being double-charged. The First Payment Usually Drops Off: When a tax return is rejected by the IRS/State, the initial payment is typically not processed or settled, even if it appears as 'pending' on your credit card statement. Re-submission Requires New Payment Authorization: When you fix the errors and re-file, TurboTax treats it as a new submission and will ask for payment information again to process the filing. If necessary keep this information should you need it later to contact us, even though it would be unlikely.   Please use the link below to contact us regarding your questions. How do I contact TurboTax? There are different ways you can communicate with us and they are shown her for you. The IRS/States is currently processing a high volume of e-filed returns, so it can take several days for your payments to go through.  The IRS/States may debit the payment after the deadline. Also, it can take the banks another few days to post the debit to your account. As long as you filed you return or extension on or before April 15, 2026, and you selected April 15, 2026, or earlier as your payment date, you won't get penalized for late payment. If you don't see the debit in your bank account 7–10 days after their return has been accepted,  call the IRS e-file Payment Services at 888-353-4537 or contact your state tax agency.   How do I contact my state Department of Revenue?

A Clergy housing allowance is generally reported in Box 14 of Form W-2 and it is not included in Box 1,3 or 5. It is usually labeled "Housing Allowance" or "Parsonage". This amount is excluded from federal income tax (Box 1) but it is  included in net earnings for self-employment tax.   When you are prompted to "Tell Us About your Clergy Housing," you will enter the qualifying expenses. This is the lesser of your actual expenses, fair rental value, or your designated allowance   If your housing allowance is not reported in Box 14 there is may be an error on your Form W-2 and you should contact the person that issued your Form W-2 to correct it.   You would indicate your housing allowance as follows: When you enter your W-2 into TurboTax , you would indicate in the description box for 14 "Clergy Housing Allowance". ‌      (See screenshots below for additional guidance) Then you will go through the next screens. Go to "wages and income" Under W-2's select "Add/Edit" next to your W-2 that you need to edit.  (See the screenshots below for additional guidance)   If you are using TurboTax Desktop: Open your return In the Search bar, enter "W-2" and select the "Jump to" link. Do not change your tax return until you read all the instructions. TurboTax needs to know the original numbers and the corrected numbers to provide the correct end results before you prepare it.   If you want to make changes or add a document to a tax return that has already been filed and accepted by the taxing agency, you should follow these guidelines.    You must first wait until the initial return is completely processed. You will have to use the same TurboTax account that you used for the original tax return. Once you begin your amendment, you'll see your original return. The refund calculator will start new at $0 and only reflect the changes in the refund or tax due Only make changes to the areas of your return that need to be corrected. You have three years from the date you filed your return or two years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment Amend a tax return for the current tax year   @georgeacrump

I would wait for a couple of days. Even though things are done electronically, there may be a backlog in the IRS computers this time of year that may slow down the debiting process. I have seen this happen numerous times in the past.   Since your state was debited, you can be sure the IRS has the same information. If you are concerned about a late payment, don't be concerned. Your return was time-stamped when you sent it, so your payment is not in arrears.
