When i try to download from amerprise i am getting a message that says can not connect.  If problem persist contact you.  I have tried everyday for the past week and have gotten the same message, so i am contacting you.   I have tried using different browsers, rebooting and i continue to get this message.  I also tried uploading from the file when i downloaded it from amerprise site.  TurboTax would not read it.

You have to be able to work from that return exactly the way it was when it was e-filed originally.  You will need to use a form called a 1040X.     Meanwhile, DO NOT go in and start changing anything on your return in the system, or you will make a mess for yourself.  Sit tight and wait until you see what the IRS does with the return you just e-filed

The IRS refund site says you are not getting a refund?   Do you owe back taxes or child support for which your refund is being seized?  TurboTax never knows about offsets to your refund.   If the IRS is keeping your refund, they will send you a letter soon.   Reduced Refund      https://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc203      NOTE: You can contact the IRS Treasury Offset Program Call Center at 1-800-304-3107 to ask if they have an offset for you on file. TurboTax would not have that information.   https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/tax-payments/who-can-garnish-an-income-tax-refund/L7cPPzDyc     TurboTax does not receive feedback from the IRS regarding money that was offset from your refund.  If you owed back taxes or child support, you will receive a letter of explanation from the IRS in several weeks.  The WMR site will contain a message regarding your offset.  It is also possible that the IRS caught a mistake you made and reduced your refund.

How old are you and why are you receiving a pension?   If you are at or past your "full retirement age" according to the pension plan's rules, then the pension is unearned income and it will disqualify you from EITC.  If you retired early due to disability, your pension may be considered "earned income" until you reach your full retirement age, and that might allow you to claim EITC.
I was on the phone with TurboTax experts Monday and Tuesday.  This morning I checked for updates and ran them.  It now appears to have been fixed and my credit shows up.

I had the same error pop up after a TurboTax update.  Try opening TurboTax by double clicking on your saved tax return data file (not the desktop icon). It's usually in a subdirectory of your your Documents folder. The file will have an extension of '.tax2025'. TurboTax should fire up normally. Then without making any changes to your tax return save it and then close the TurboTax app. Cross your fingers, say omina - omina - omina, then cross your heart twice while your fingers are still crossed. Then try running TurboTax again normally by double clicking on the desktop icon.

You generally do not need to issue a Form 1099-NEC to a non-U.S. contractor who performed all their work outside the United States.   According to the IRS, reporting requirements for independent contractors are based on the source of the income. If the individual is a non-resident alien and the services were performed entirely outside the U.S., the income is considered "foreign source" and is not subject to U.S. tax reporting or withholding.   The reason TurboTax is prompting you to issue a 1099 is likely because of how you answered the initial business expense questions. To fix this: Go to the Business Expenses or Schedule C section. Look for the category Contract Labor. Enter the $5,000 as a standard business expense. When TurboTax asks, "Did you pay any individual $600 or more for services in 2025?" or "Do you need to file any 1099s?", you can safely answer No for this specific contractor. If you have multiple contractors and some are U.S.-based, only answer "Yes" for the U.S. ones. TurboTax will then ask you to provide details only for those specific individuals.
