This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.  You can contact them SBTPG, toll-free, at 1-877-908-7228 or go to their secure website www.sbtpg.com              How can I see my TurboTax  fees?    https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/intuit-account-billing/review-fees-turbotax-online/L1XnIzgzg_US_en_US?uid=m682vq7k   What is Refund Processing Service?

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.      First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.     You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:    https://www.irs.gov/refunds   To track your state refund:     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr   If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/refunds-take-longer-others/L14YlqFrH_US_en_US?uid=lexdr7zh . https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/irs-refund-taking-longer-21-days/L2vRAJbdU_US_en_US?uid=lexe7lst

Followup question - since her electricity is included in the rent only up to a certain extent (which looks minimal!), last month saw a large increase in the amount billed by the apartment complex, as the bill due November 1 included November rent plus the "excess" electricity for September, according to the October meter reading.  With the electricity bill being charged 2 months in arrears, how is this handled in regards to 529 reimbursement?  Should she make a payment in December (if the apartment complex will allow it) toward the bill due by January 5 for January rent and November (and maybe December) electricity (though in reality, the apartment complex will credit the amount exceeding the November electricity to January rent and not December electricity)?   Should she pay the entire January bill (I'll assume she gets notice of what it is before January 1) in December if we think there is enough time to claim reimbursement from the 529?   Or should she just pay December rent and October electricity on December 1 and submit the charge for reimbursement (along with all the food expenses) for reimbursement ASAP (as soon as she stocks her pantry again for December), and then claim what she actually paid the apartment complex January - May (May rent prorated for 5 days, but the electricity portion which was for March not prorated?) as "room and board" since that's when the charges were paid, though not incurred?  What do we do about April and May (prorated for 5 days) electricity charges that will be billed to her (even if she sublets her room after graduation until the end of the lease) in June and July?

Deductibleduck.com is a fantastic alternative to ItsDeductible.  I was able to import all the old data that I downloaded from ItsDeductible into Deductible Duck, and the process for adding new donation information is easy.  The founder, Dave, is easy to reach and responsive to questions and suggestions.  I couldn't be happier with Deductibleduck.com.

i'm not Tom. There is no info yet on the advance program for 2026 (2025 taxes) so if it is offered it's not likely before it starts accepting e-filing - usually January. Note that when it first opens E-filing your return sits on the Turbotax servers until the IRS officially opens e-filing. (in 2025 it was 1/27). Your return can't be accepted until the IRS opens e-filing.   It's up to Turbotax to decide whether to actually grant you the advance. there are certain criteria which must be met.  If granted there are additional fees ($40/45 in 2025) if you use your refund to pay any Turbotax return fees.      this is from the 2025 advance program  How to get Refund Advance instantly* Choose Refund Advance as your refund option When you’re ready to file, select Refund Advance and apply for it in a few easy steps. How do I note on the return that someone can claim me as a dependent?
