Could you clarify what PIN are you referring to? The IRS IP PIN (Identity-Theft Protection PIN number) which is a 6 Digit PIN issued every year by the IRS for you to file electronically, or the 5-digit TurboTax PIN, which is a number you created as a signature.   If you need the IP PIN, you should have received a letter from the IRS with the PIN included. If you didn't receive the letter, you can create an account on the IRS website (if you don't have one) to retrieve it. See the link below:  Get an identity protection PIN (IP PIN)   If you need the PIN ‌to e-file your tax return, you will need either last year's self-created 5-digit PIN, or last year's AGI (adjusted gross income). Your 5-digit PIN isn't saved anywhere; in this case you can use you AGI instead. Your last year AGI is located within your prior-year tax documents Form 1040, Line 11. How do I find last year's AGI?

If the IRS rejected your clean vehicle tax credit claim because of a VIN mismatch, but you confirmed the VIN is correct, here are steps to consider: 1. Verify VIN entry: Double-check your tax return entry exactly matches the VIN on your vehicle documents. 2. Confirm seller reporting: The dealer must submit a time-of-sale report with the correct VIN to the IRS within 3 days of sale. Ask your dealer for confirmation you received this report. 3. Contact IRS clean vehicle dealer info: For help correcting VIN mismatch issues, you can contact the IRS via email at irs.clean.vehicles.dealer.info@irs.gov. 4. Correct and resubmit: If you find an error, update the VIN in your tax return and resubmit. These steps help ensure your credit claim is accurate and accepted despite initial mismatch issues.

What was your rejection code? If your TurboTax return was rejected, sign in to your account and select "Fix my return" to view the specific rejection code and error. Most rejections are due to simple errors like mismatched Social Security numbers, misspelled names, or incorrect AGI, which can be corrected and resubmitted via e-file. If it keeps getting rejected, print and mail your return.   What does my rejected return code mean and how do I fix it?   @albert_2016
At any point, you may click on My Info or Federal down the left side of the screen to exit from where you are in the software.
Yes. See our help article below for the steps to downgrade the version of the software you are using. Here's an article showing how to remove TurboTax Live.
@sophiewaruingi    IF you didn't file last year...you use a zero for that year's AGI.

What qualifies as a simple tax return for TurboTax Free Edition? A simple Form 1040 return is one that’s filed using IRS Form 1040 only (no schedules, except for EITC, CTC, student loan interest, and Schedule 1-A). Roughly 37% of taxpayers are eligible.   If you have a simple Form 1040 return only as described above, you can file for free yourself with TurboTax Free Edition, or you can file with TurboTax Expert Assist Basic at the listed price. If your return doesn’t qualify for TurboTax Free Edition, we have other paid options to file using TurboTax.   @golfpassion8

No. Your charitable contributions can be deducted in the year they were made only. For example, the contributions made in 2021 would be on your 2021 tax return. The same is true for each subsequent year.    For tax year 2025, you must itemize deductions on Schedule A to claim charitable contributions; they are not an above-the-line deduction for non-itemizers, according to Intuit TurboTax experts. The new law allowing non-itemizers to deduct up to $1,000 ($2,000 married filing jointly) for cash donations begins in tax year 2026.    Charitable Contributions   @jhansentwin

@irismr11    Not sure anyone can tell you if it is a 403b.  You should call the rep of the Account for the issuer of that 1099-R and ask them.  403b's are usually pension plans for public school workers and certain tax-exempt organizations. ____________ Beyond that, TTX seems to be referring to all non-IRA 1099-R forms as Annuities.  Don't let that terminology confuse you.  Just work thru your answers to the actual questions presented by the software to try to answer them correctly.
If you were issued one from the same payor in the previous year you may find the number on that one. Otherwise, you would have to contact the payor and request the number.

I have used TurboTax for over 20 years and this is the worst year TurboTax has ever been.  Trying to install or even doing updates are not very efficient.   Why do I have to keep install the program on my computer.  Once you install the program you should not have to keep installing it over and over.  This has never happened to me before in my 20 years of using the product.
