Federal went fine then comes state. All my addresses are correct (I moved in July of 2025) still in the same city and same county. I left my job before I even moved. The state will not give me the option for the correct county to choose. In fact it only gives me ONE option. ADAMS which is not correct as I am in LANCASTER County Lincoln NE. I've uninstalled the app. Cleared cache data, deleted state to restart that part. Completely deleted all my return info and started over. Still gives me the incorrect county. 68516 (current zip code) 68526 (previous zip code) BOTH LANCASTER. Used the usps county finder based on zip code and that just gives me errors. Says incorrect zip used. Did not have this issue last year...

Unless I'm reading this wrong, the 2025 limit is still showing the 2024 numbers. To wit: The 2025 max 401k contribution limit is $23,500 employEE contribution + $46,500 employER contribution for total of $70,000. Plus, an additional catchup of $7,500 for those age 50-59. I enter this information and then get told we "can defer a maximum of $30,500 to a 401(k) plan" - not the $31,000 that is allowed in 2025. On a later screen, it says "Maximum allowed to qualified plans: $76,500". And not the $77,500 that is allowed in 2025 (for those age 50-59). While it let me enter my correct/actual numbers for 2025 (which total $77,500), it is only giving me a deduction of $76,500. Can someone at TurboTax please investigate and address this?

My balance owed kept shooting up every time I reopened my file. I finally figured out that the screen where you input the months you were covered under a HDHP plan kept resetting all the months back to "None." I reinput the entries and saved the file. Reopened the file . . . all entries back to "None" again. As a result our HSA distributions are showing taxable when they shouldn't. Either I'm doing something wrong or there really is a bug in the program.

I was able to get it working. Basically on the file page I had to click pay with refund, then click (no thanks) for the deposit options, on that next page it showed the option for the advance.
Saturday
We recommend you revisit the last topic you were working on to make sure all your information is correct? What heck does this mean ? I keep getting this on everything I click on. Any ideas?? Thanks...

If IRS does not have your 2024 tax return, you will have to submit it again on paper via US Mail. @peteman1972

I picked the advance and my taxes got approved. But I never got the advance.

Is the amount on the W-2 based on time-and-a-half or is this all double-time?

It's on the Wages&Income page BUT The 1099-R section isn't expected to be ready for input until on/after 21 January. So come back next Thursday or Friday to attempt to enter it then.

Sorry, but we can't see the full details of what income you've entered, and whether you entered your Overtime details correctly (and shouldn't see, since this is a Public forum). One thing you should definitely check is to Edit your W-2, make sure all the values match your actual paper W-2 form, and THEN, on the page after the main W-2 page, there is a page with a whole long list of checkboxes. Make sure you've checked the "Overtime" box so that you get the follow-up questions about the overtime pay you have received. Maybe you missed that.

TurboTax Online works on current year returns only. You're not able to access incomplete prior year returns. To complete your return with TurboTax you will need a computer where you can download and install 2023 TurboTax Desktop software. You will need to enter all the information into the software. Once complete you will print, sign and mail the return to the IRS. I always recommend sending with tracking info or via certified mail.

It's still showing $76,500 as the maximum allowed for solo 401k, even though that has increased by $1,000. Even manually putting in the correct contributions totaling $77,500 it still shows the total as $76.5k. It's bad enough that it's wrong, but worse that you can't overwrite it.
