No, technically, you should not use "NRA" if your spouse has met the Substantial Presence Test (SPT). By law, resident aliens are required to have an SSN (if eligible) or an ITIN. By putting "NRA," you are misrepresenting her tax status to the IRS, which could lead to processing delays or notices later on.
If your spouse does not yet have an SSN or ITIN, you have two main paths:
1. Apply for an ITIN (Form W-7)
If she is not eligible for a Social Security Number, she should apply for an ITIN.
The Catch: You cannot e-file. You must mail your tax return along with her Form W-7 and the required identification documents (like an original passport or a certified copy).
This keeps her status accurate as a Resident Alien and satisfies the IRS requirement for a valid ID number.
Use this link to download the W7 application and the instructions.
2. Apply for an SSN (if eligible)
If she is in the U.S. on a visa that allows her to work (like an H-1B, L-1, or some J-1s), she should apply for an SSN at a Social Security office.
If the tax deadline is approaching, you can file an Extension (Form 4868) to give her time to receive the SSN, then e-file once it arrives.

Once your tax return is released to the IRS, TurboTax has no control over it.
However, the IRS has published an article because delays happen so frequently.
Why it may take longer than 21 days for some taxpayers to receive their federal refund
The IRS states, "To check the status of a refund, taxpayers should use the
Where's My Refund? tool on IRS.gov."
You will need:
Social Security Number
Zip Code
Refund amount

To file your Kansas K-26 Aviation and Aerospace credit using TurboTax,you will enter your credit amount under "Other Credits" in the Kansas state section of TurboTax, then you will print and mail your return. TurboTax cannot e-file this form as you must attach a physical copy of the filled-out Form K-26 to your Kansas state tax return.
Answer "Yes" to having other credits and enter your total credit amount on the appropriate line.
Continue through your state return screens. On the final filing screen, you will choose Print and Mail for your Kansas return instead of e-filing.
Print your return and attach your completed K-26 form (Aviation/Aerospace) before mailing it to the Kansas Department of Revenue.
Please return to Community if you have any additional information or questions and we would be happy to help.
