As long as you have not filed yet, you can go back to the My Info / Personal Information section and make changes if necessary.    You will choose to E-file when you get to the filing steps, which is at the end of the process.       How do I change from mail to e-file in TurboTax Online?

I got deductions on every check in 2025 for New York State tax, i always have had it automatically deducted, and have had the same job for the past 4 years. I also have a salary under 50k and it states I owe almost 900 to NY state. Doesn’t makes sense

You can look in a few specific places in your account or your email.    Check Your TurboTax Order Details On the Tax Home page, scroll down to the section for "Your tax returns & documents." Select View Order Details. Look for "Refund Advance" or "Credit Karma Money" listed under your payment and refund methods. If it’s not there, you likely selected a standard direct deposit or a different refund option.   Look for Confirmation Emails If you applied, you should have received automated emails from TurboTax and its partners. From TurboTax: Search for an email confirming your "Refund Selection." From Credit Karma: If you were approved, Credit Karma sends an email when the funds are deposited into your Credit Karma Money Spend account. From WebBank: If your application was denied, you will receive an email from WebBank (the lender) explaining the reason for the decline.   Check Your Credit Karma Money Account Because the Refund Advance is deposited into a Credit Karma Money™ Spend account, checking that account is the fastest way to see if the loan was processed. Log in to your Credit Karma account. Navigate to the Money tab. If you see a pending or completed deposit for a portion of your refund (typically between $250 and $4,000) shortly after the IRS accepted your return, that is your Refund Advance.   Review Your Tax Return Summary You can also find clues on your actual tax forms: Open your 2025 return in TurboTax Go to the Tax Tools menu on the left Select Print Center View your Federal Information Worksheet Look at the "Direct Deposit" section If you signed up for the advance, the bank account listed will be the MVB Bank account associated with Credit Karma, rather than your personal bank account.

Am hoping H&R Block improves their product before next filing. Lots of negative comments about downloads not working. Do still need to fill out an 1120S so may try the Block Premium & Business ($50), it is significantly cheaper than the Intuit Turbo Tax Business at $144.00 (on Special, normal price $190.00). Plus tax of course.
There are many entries to enter manually. Does not make sense to enter it manually and make a mistake.   I guess no choice but to wait.

As you are not married, you have to file two separate returns.   One of you (usually the person with the higher income and considered as paying more than half of the costs of keeping up a home) will file as Head of Household and claim the child.   The other person will file as Single.

If you are a non-married couple who live together with your child, then only one of you can claim the child(ren) and the one not claiming the child does not enter anything at all on their tax return about the child.   The “sharing” of child-related credits you may have heard about is only possible between divorced or never married parents who live apart and share custody and who have a written agreement to share the credits.    The child’s SSN can only be entered on one tax return.   Any other return with the child’s SSN on it will be rejected.   If you are a family, then work out how to share the refund between yourselves.     Prepare the returns both ways to see what works better.   But since you clearly did not pay for over half the household expenses, you would have to file Single --- not Head of Household.

During 2025, I contributed $7,000 in post income tax dollars to a traditional IRA, and immediately converted that account into my existing Roth IRA. I had never made any prior contributions to that traditional IRA. When I upload and go through my 1099-R in turbotax premium and answer each of the prompts, it is adding $7000 to my total taxable income when in reality, the distribution should be excluded due to the fact that it was initially contributed to the traditional IRA with post tax dollars and immediately converted. What am I missing here in the prompts to get turbotax to recognize this? Thank you!

ok, let's say I pay for online.  It looks like it is a flat $99 but seems like it only includes federal return and doesn't seem like it includes state.   Does it only allow online submission or does it have the ability like the desktop version, to save the pdf to my computer, print it out and mail it in?  And whats the difference between online Deluxe and online Premier?  I just neeed schedule E, and donations form.

Do you not see the option?  When you get to the screen that says, "Get your federal refund faster" and it gives the option of Fast deposit to Credit Karma or a bank account, select "No thanks". The next screen is "How would you like to receive your federal refund?" If you are eligible for the Refund Advance, you will see this as an option.   The Refund Advance is not available to everyone.    Here are a couple things to check: If you are using a TurboTax partner affiliate link to use the software, the Refund Advance will not be available. If you select the 5 Day Early Refund Delivery, you will not see the Refund Advance option, but you can return to the refund selection page and find all the options listed.
