View your tax return - how much income is reported.   You probably have a typo if your return is generating Form 8959.      Preview my Tax Return in TurboTax Online  before Filing
Fun fact! This doesn’t work because TurboTax is attempting to scam us.

When I try to submit my taxes, TurboTax tells me I don’t have a simple return due to the form 8959. I come nowhere near the threshold for this and every time I try to delete it, it says it’s successful but doesn’t actually delete it. How do I fix this and bypass the attempt to charge me for a simple return.

You cannot make changes if you already submitted and filed the return - unless the return gets rejected.   If it gets rejected, you can make changes.   But if it gets accepted, you will need to file an amended return after the 1040X is released in February.     Keep checking back to see if the pending status changes to accepted or rejected.      What does Pending mean?

Thanks a lot @DaveF1006 ! 🙌. This will certainly help a lot in filling.  This explanation is incredibly helpful and will make filling out the forms much easier. I definitely would have panicked if I would have first saw “Schedule 1 (Form 1040)” in the software 😅.   I’ll update this thread with what I see on Sprintax and other software for these two forms and the PDF attachments, so others can benefit as well.   Thanks again for taking the time to help — this will be useful for many people in the community!
The Colorado website has a small refund listed for tax year 2025.   See CO - Tabor
I did have a permanent residence outside of Missouri. I incorrectly filed and already saved and have an incorrect pending return. How do I change this?
Can I claim the adoption tax credit for 2025 if the adoption isn’t finalized yet
After turning fileVault off and decrypting my files I had to quit and re-start TurboTax.  Then it worked as it should.  Problem solved.
Software has error and does not update income even after completing all sections of Rental Properties and Royalties (Sch E).

No, you don’t combine the numbers from each W-2.  You enter each one separately. After you enter your first W-2 and get to the Summary Screen, TurboTax will give you the option to add a new W-2.    Refer to the TurboTax article How do I manually enter my W-2?   Since you indicated that you moved from Florida to Colorado, you have to file a part-year resident state tax return for Colorado.   When you enter your personal information, make sure you select that you lived in another state in 2025.   When you get to the screen titled Did you live in another state in 2025? Select yes. Select Florida as your Previous state of residence,  Enter the date that you became a resident of Colorado on the next screen. After you complete your federal tax return and you move to the State Taxes section, your part-year CO state return will be listed.  You won't have one for FL since FL does not have an income tax.   ‌Review the TurboTax articles Multiple States—Where To File, How do I file if I moved to a different state last year? and How do I file a part-year state return?    Moving expenses are not deductible on your federal return for most taxpayers as a result of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.  There is an exception for some military taxpayers and their families.   Please review the TurboTax articles Can I deduct my moving expenses? and IRS Form 3903: Are Moving Expenses Tax Deductible? for more information.   Some states allow deductions for moving expenses, but Colorado does not.
Is there a Tabor Tax refund in Colorado?
Also, I will have a mortgage on the home I purchased with the HELOC funds (that I am currently living in) even when my 1st house is sold and I pay the HELOC off.
Mine is doing the exact same thing, what ended up happening?

Maybe there is a typo.   Return to the My Info/Personal Information section and update your marital status - make sure it reflects Married filing Jointly.    You can click on Edit or Review next to your name to update your status.     That form is only generated if you are filing Married filing Separately (or are in a RDP, registered domestic partnership) in a community property state.      What is Form 8958?
