And this is the first year you placed it in service? If so, unfortunately, I'm not sure why it isn't asking you for that, other than that it is still early in the tax season and there tends to be a lot of bugs and incomplete sections in the program. Personally, I would just wait another couple of weeks, but maybe someone else will come along with another suggestion. If this isn't the first year it was placed in service, go back and look through the questions for the one that asks if you previously used the Standard Mileage Rate, and make sure you said no to that.

A federal disability pension's taxability depends on its source and your age/income; VA disability is generally tax-free, while military disability might be taxable. Once you reach retirement age (if you retired early due to disability), it may no longer be taxable. You could review your entries in the 1099-R section to make sure they are correct for your situation. Here's more info on Disability Income. @Missgidgett

It depends. The IRS doesn't begin to process electronic files until January 26. Check back after that point to see if you can file your return and W2's electronically.

Found my complete note on it. The state estimates error was fixed in a Jan 6, 2026 update. I didn't update until Jan 8, 2026. The update didn't fix my existing return BUT if you transfer 2024 again into a new return it works right now. I updated my Windows Desktop Home & Business program and started a NEW return and transferred from 2024 again and my 2024 state estimated payments did NOT go to Schedule A. My first 2025 return still shows all my 2024 state estimates (April, June, Sept & Dec) on Sch A. UPDATE…..Today 1/8/26 I got an email from TurboTax Support saying to update the program and "Please go through your federal review/smart check portion of your software". So I went through the Review and eventually came to a screen that asked…How much of your 2024 estimated state taxes did you pay in 2025? and it had my total 2024 state estimated payment amount listed. I changed it to zero and it updated my return and schedule A. So you don't have to start a new return and transfer from 2024 again. The last I saw (which as been quite a while, so it may have changed), you enter the information based on calculating the Standard Mileage Rate and it tells you the amount, then it asks if you want to try to enter Actual Expenses to see if it is better. Is it not asking that? For the business percentage, go back through the questions and look for the one that ask if you kept track of personal miles. Say YES to that question.

It depends. Check your Alabama state forms and see if it is listed there. Follow the steps that AmyC has listed above to see if the ARA worksheet is listed. If not, revisit your Alabama State entries to see if you accidentally clicked on a state credit for "Growing Alabama" or "Economic Development."
Because it's a state-specific credit, it won't appear in your federal list of forms but will show in your Alabama forms.
