This is exactly what happened to me—I always answer NO to the foreign residency question. As I read others have done the same and the software reverts their No to Yes. TT refuse to stand by their 100% calculation accuracy guarantee. After being a customer for years, how they are treating this is disappointing. My confidence in this product would be secure if they would at least stand behind their promise and refund my product purchase.

Also why doesn’t TurboTax include an electronic version of the K-1-P with the IL-1040 filed with Illinois since it’s required by the Illinois instructions to back up the retirement income deduction
We'd love to help you complete your tax return, but need more information. Can you please clarify your question?
No, I did not, I only filed an extension once.
What sort of problem are you having doing this?
I did put the amount in the spot you indicated and the TurboTax software out the amount on line 5 and not schedule M.

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

If you are referring to the 5 digit e-file PIN, you can use any 5 digits you select.  It does need to be the same as you used to file the 2024 tax return.   If you are referring to the 6 digit Identity Protection PIN issued by the IRS each tax year, and you did not receive the PIN from the IRS for tax year 2025, then go to this IRS website to retrieve your IP PIN - https://www.irs.gov/identity-theft-fraud-scams/retrieve-your-ip-pin   To enter, edit or delete a 6 digit IP PIN Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business) Click on Other Tax Situations Scroll down to Other Return Info On Identity Protection PIN, click the start button

Do you have your new IP Pin to use for 2026? This number changes every year.     You can get an Identity Protection pin here, or if you lost your IP PIN, you can go here to Retrieve IP PIN.    Here are two ways to navigate to the section to enter the 6 digit IP PIN:     Log in and open your return ("Take me to my return")  Once the return is open, then go to the Federal Taxes tab.  Subtab Other Tax Situations  Scroll down to Other Return Info.  Choose Identity Protection PIN and Start (or Revisit.)  Next screen asks:  "Did you or any of your dependents get an IP PIN from the IRS for this year's taxes?"  Or another way:  Open your return if not already open.  ("Take me to my return.")  Once the return is open, click at the top on MY ACCOUNT, then choose TOOLS.  In the Tools window choose TOPIC SEARCH.  Enter IP PIN without quotes.  In the selection list highlight IP PIN and click GO.  Next screen asks:  "Did you or any of your dependents get an IP PIN from the IRS for this year's taxes?"      Here's how you can fix a reject:  Sign in to your account and select the Fix my return button. Follow any “fix it” instructions to update the information causing the rejection.    Note: Not all rejections will have explicit guides to fix the information. You’ll need to navigate to the program area to address the cause of the rejection.    Time-saving Tip: If what you originally entered is correct, you won't be able to e-file. There's probably a data mismatch at the government, a dependent that's already been claimed, or some other situation beyond your control that prevents your return from being e-filed. In this case, your only option would be to print and mail in your return. This article will give you instruction on how to print and mail your return.    Additional reject instruction here.
I am not getting a refund. I owe taxes, which I have paid. Those links only give info for refunds
