if you told TurboTax you would mail a check, there should be Form 1040-V. If you selected direct debit, there is no document for this payment. Other than a debit on the FI's monthly statement or online

The HVAC may qualify for an energy credit, but that's the extent of any tax benefit from these improvements.
Are you asking about a 2024 federal refund you applied to 2025?  What's on 1040 line 36 to apply?  Or is it for state?   Or are you seeing a 2024 state refund being taxed on federal?

It sounds like you may have answered a question in the My Info section incorrectly.   Follow these steps in TurboTax Online to ensure you have indicated that you are a full year resident of Utah:   Select My Info or Personal Info from the left-side menu. Click Edit next to your name. Scroll down to the State of residence section. Confirm Utah is selected as your State of Residence. Ensure the question asking Did you live in another state? is answered with No. Continue to the next screen and make sure you do not select any other states when asked if you earned money in other locations.

In my case, Turbotax is showing a contribution by me that is within the limits of my HSA, but I have not made any contributions since I retired. My previous employer has continued to make a $500/yearly contribution which is documented on the W-2 that I have received for the past 2 years. My income from my previous employer is $0 on my W-2 while still having the $500 HSA contribution for the same 2 years. Turbotax completed Form 8889 with a full contribution by me and the $500 from previous employer which does not reflect the data I entered ($0) while proceeding through the questions. I am uncertain how to correct the entry on the Form 8889 or how the inaccurate information affects the Tax Return.  Additionally, I was required to submit a paper copy of my Tas Return.

You don't need to amend for that. The IRS has been adjusting returns for the missing taxable amount of SS on 1040/1040SR line 6b and reducing your refund or sending you a bill. That's been a common error this year. It's due to skipping the next screen about if you lived in a Foreign Country or answering it wrong. That's why it's important and good before you file to check your return line by line with last year and you might have seen that the taxable Social Security on line 6b was missing if it was taxable before. Then you could have questioned it.   And only up to 85% of SS can be taxable on 1040 line 6b.

After you entered your Social Security benefits reported on a SSA-1099 there was a following screen which asked if you lived in any of the foreign countries listed.  If you indicated Yes or skipped over this screen then none of your Social Security benefits were taxed on your federal tax return.  If you did not live in any of those foreign countries then the IRS is correct.

No you don't have to sign or pay for an Online return just to test.  So don't go too far like in the Filing tab.   FYI- If you used the Desktop program before you may notice several differences and not like the online version. It has less features and no Forms Mode. And you will have to pay first to see all the forms. All the Online versions do not have the same forms so you may need to upgrade to a higher version. Online Premium is the highest vesion and has all the same forms as the Desktop programs. You can only do 1 return per account. And pay for each account. Federal and state are separate fees.
An e-filed tax return does not have a physical signature.  The prior tax year AGI entered which is associated with your Social Security Number is your electronic signature.

IRS says amount of taxable social security was calculated wrong and refers to Publication 915.  They added my full SSA to income and increase the amount of tax owed.  Turbo tac did not include the SSA in my income.  I filled in everything correctly and my refund was reduced by the amount of additional taxes.  Is IRS right or turbo tax ?
I was testing and getting practice with TurboTax Online for future considerations once TTax for Mac is not supported.
