@Mike9241 wrote: Did you withdraw the money from your HSA a/c and put it into a non-HSA account? Then it's taxable even if used to pay medical bills. This is incorrect.   Money is fungible, that means that once you have it in your pocket (bank account, etc.) it loses its "identity" as to where it came from.  Suppose you pay for your medical expenses with a credit card or cash at the time of service, and then reimburse yourself later by getting a withdrawal deposited into your checking account.  That's perfectly allowable.  It would also be allowable if the funds were deposited into a savings or investment account.  What matters is that you are remibursed only for qualified expenses, that the qualified expenses occurred after the HSA was opened, and that you only reimburse your out of pocket costs and not the part that was covered by insurance.   @user17690137885  I suspect your problem is that you did not finish the interview.  All HSA withdrawals are automatically included in taxable income unless you check the box that says "yes, I only used the money for qualified expenses."   Likewise, all contributions you made in 2025 are automatically added to taxable income until you complete the entire interview and certify that you had eligible HDHP insurance.     Lastly, contributions made via payroll deduction are only reported on your W-2 and detected automatically by Turbotax.  In the interview you only report extra contributions you made out of pocket (if you made any).  Don't report your payroll deductions again, that can result in a calculation of excess contributions, which is subject to tax and a penalty.   Go back to the HSA section on the income page, and the contribution section on the deduction page, and run all the interview questions.  Don't skip around.
I work in TT Premier desktop. Somehow I accidently started an online return. It's barely started. How do I delete that partially started return? See attached screen shot. Thanks

Two things to do: 1. The Canadian pension section is next to the 1099-R, 401k section. Please return to the income section and double check that nothing was accidentally entered there. 2. Delete    If you are using: Online: see How do I view and delete forms in TTO? Desktop: If you are working in the cd/download TurboTax program: On the top right, there is a FORMS button.  Click on FORMS. Locate the form you want to delete. Click on the form name. Below the form, bottom left, select DELETE FORM button.  Caution for online: If the information returns, the program believes it too important to delete so you will need to: select Tax Tools In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Topic Search a new popup will allow you to find and select the form Edit the form to remove any errant entries
Meaning  the updates are completed in the west coast time zone?  Thanks for the information

@plcao1209 , while I understand and recognize that there are conflicting posts covering this topic ( reporting of foreign pension), it would not be correct for me to opine without understanding ( fully if possible ) your particular situation -- it is always facts and circumstances.  So please can you answer at least the following questions: (a) Are you US person ( citizen/GreenCard/ Resident for Tax Purposes )? (b) Which country is this "foreign" pension from ? (c)  Source of the pension --  for govt. employment,  public sources like SSA equivalent, private pension etc.  Many tax treaties address/ restrict taxation of pension by source ( either or both countries,  rate etc. ) (d) Where is your tax-home ? -- US or foreign ? (e) Is this your first year of foreign pension ?   Is this a lump sum or regular distribution ?   I will circle back once I hear from you -- yes ? Is there more I can do for you ?
Today is 21Jan and I still cannot access the 1099R when is it going to be available?
At what time of the day on 1-21? I want my retirement module!!🤣
In the Desktop Mac version the field for the tax withholding tax adjustment isn't editable at all in either the EasySteps or Forms.  Seems like a related bug.

@AmyC   The Availability list only shows forms that are produced for your return.  NOT input forms needed like 1099R.

@Mike9241 wrote: You can pay those premiums using your HSA.  I agree, but I don't see this spelled out in Publication 969.  I can offer this logic:   You can't contribute to an HSA if you have "other coverage" for medical costs on top of your HDHP.   However, certain types of insurance don't count as "other coverage" that would disqualify you, including accident coverage, disability insurance, and dental insurance.   Since you can have dental insurance and still contribute to an HSA, I think the logic would be that it does not count as premiums you can't pay from an HSA, even though it is not specifically mentioned in the publication.

Please check forms availability  here. Select online, Windows, or Macintosh from the drop down menu. Whenever the federal and states change a form, we have to as well. This happens throughout tax season.   It takes some time to incorporate IRS forms into TurboTax. While they may be available from the IRS on a given date, we need a few days to make the forms available for use in TurboTax. @jtritt
Any update? It is the 21st….still not updated.
