For e-filing in Georgia, providing a driver's license or state ID is not strictly required. This information is requested primarily as a security measure to verify your identity and help prevent tax fraud, but omitting it will not prevent you from successfully submitting your return. If TurboTax or other filing software is giving you an error because of the missing expiration date, use one of these workarounds:
Select "Did Not Provide" or "I Don't Have an ID" on the screen asking for ID details. This is the most common way to bypass the error and still e-file.
In many versions of TurboTax, you can simply clear out any numbers you've entered for the license and leave all fields (number, issue date, and expiration) completely blank.

Yes, if you made Traditional IRA contributions and you are within the income limits and other requirements that allow you to deduct the contribution, it is subtracted from your income on Form 1040 Schedule 1 line 20.
Whether or not your Traditional IRA contribution is deductible is governed by your income (Modified Adjusted Gross Income, or MAGI) and whether you (and/or your spouse, if applicable) are covered by a retirement plan at work. If you cannot deduct your Traditional IRA contribution because of these limitations, you can still make a non-deductible contribution even though it will not affect your current year tax return.
You should always report your IRA contribution as part of your tax return. TurboTax will apply the income limitations and give you information about whether your Traditional IRA contribution is deductible or not.
See the following information from the IRS for more details:
Retirement topics - IRA contribution limits
If you need extra time, filing an extension by April 15, 2026, moves your submission deadline to October 15. But remember any taxes owed are still due in full by the original April 15 date.

The "Enrollment Status must be entered" error in TurboTax typically occurs when the software expects details for a student listed on your return (often linked to education credits or 529 distributions) but the information is missing or "stuck" in a hidden worksheet.
Click on Tax Tools in the left menu, select Tools, and then Delete a form. Look for the "Person on the Return Worksheet" and delete it.

If you have reached the annuity interview section and it does not apply, it may be that the "Yes, this is a 403(b) plan" box is checked, or "Yes" was selected when asked about "periodic payments" which triggers the "annuity" and "Simplified Method" and "General Rule" interviews.
Follow these steps to bypass the annuity loop:
On the 1099-R entry screen, make sure Box 7 matches your form (likely Code 7 or Code 1)
Ensure the "IRA/SEP/SIMPLE" box is unchecked
When the software asks, "Was this distribution from a 403(b) plan?", select "No, it's another type of qualified retirement plan"
On the "Annuity information" screen, select "No" to periodic payments
By selecting No in the above two screens, the software will treat it like a standard pension or 401k distribution and skip the "Annuity" questions entirely

Even though we are in 2026, the deadline for your 2025 taxes is April 15, 2026. If you are being told you owe a penalty for "2025," it is likely for one of two reasons:
Late Filing for 2024: If you are just now filing your taxes for the previous year (the income you earned in 2024), that return was due on April 15, 2025. Since that date has passed, the IRS considers it late.
Underpayment of Estimated Tax (2025): The IRS operates on a "pay-as-you-go" system. If you are self-employed or have income that isn't taxed at the source, you are required to pay estimated taxes throughout the year. If you didn't pay enough during 2025, you might be hit with an Underpayment Penalty, even if you file your final return on time today.

Here's how you can fix it:
Sign in to your account and select the Fix my return button. Follow any “fix it” instructions to update the information causing the rejection.
Note: Not all rejections will have explicit guides to fix the information. You’ll need to navigate to the program area to address the cause of the rejection.
Time-saving Tip: If what you originally entered is correct, you won't be able to e-file. There's probably a data mismatch at the government, a dependent that's already been claimed, or some other situation beyond your control that prevents your return from being e-filed. In this case, your only option would be to print and mail in your return. This article will give you instruction on how to print and mail your return.
Additional reject instruction here.

Yes, a PTO payout from a previous employer is considered taxable wages. It is treated as supplemental income, subject to federal, state, and FICA taxes. This amount must be included in your gross income when filing tax returns. It should be reported on your final W-2 form. So when you enter your form W-2 it should be entered in TurboTax.

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:
Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu.
Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website.
Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms.
Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit."
Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.
Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.
