@wozman7  Sorry for your loss.   yes, you completed the tax return correctly, but there are controls in the efile process that prevent electronic filing in certain instances.  This is one of them.   I am under the impression that the reject reason you received occurs when the indivudal passed in a prior year (i.e. 2024 or prior) or you are submitting a prior year tax return.     Hate to ask under the circumstances, but did she pass in 2024 and not 2025?    Otherwise, just paper file the return claiming your mother and filing HOH.  No need to change anything on the tax return.

If you have already addressed the entries for the item which you are being asked to Revisit:   If you are using TurboTax Online, check your Internet connection. If you are using a VPN, try turning it off and connecting to your Internet provider directly. Hardwired connections work best. If that doesn't resolve the issue, then:   Try exiting TurboTax, restarting your device and starting TurboTax again. Try using a different browser. Chrome usually works well. Try clearing your cache and cookies.      If after trying all of the options mentioned you still have the same problem:    See this help article and this one for instructions on how to contact TurboTax customer support depending on which product you are using.
@lockwood1122 yes it can.  the account balance is the net of contributions and distributions.  What turbo tax is checking is solely the contributions.
Thank you!     I am appalled at how complicated this feature is.

If you have already addressed all of the areas of your return for which Review asked for more information or corrections, you have checked your Internet connection, and the program is not progressing to the next step, first try the following steps:    Try exiting TurboTax, restarting your device and starting TurboTax again. Try using a different browser. Chrome usually works well. Some users have found switching to Edge helped. Try clearing your cache and cookies.     If, after completing the steps above, you are still not able to progress past Review, try these additional steps:   Sometimes, if you enter a section and exit it, without making an entry, TurboTax will create a form for the entry that would go with that section, and Review will look for an entry in that form. It could also be that the form was created because of an entry carried over from last year.   If you have blank forms or forms with a "0" that are not needed, such as for W-2G or K-1, you can get out of this by deleting the forms that TurboTax has prepared from your opening the screens that support them.  If you are using TurboTax Online, see this help article and below for the steps to Delete a Form:    Open or continue your return. On Tax Home, select Start, Continue, or Pick up where you left off to enter your return. In the left menu, select Tax Tools and then Tools. In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form. (Look for any form or worksheet relating to Medical expenses.) Select Delete next to the form, schedule, and worksheet in the list and follow the instructions. If you are using a Desktop version of TurboTax, you can switch to Forms Mode (click on Forms at the top of the screen when you are in Step-by-Step Mode), review the list of forms on the left, then select the one you wish to delete. When the form displays, click "Delete Form" at the bottom of the screen.    If after trying all of the options mentioned you still have the same problem:    See this help article and this one for instructions on how to contact TurboTax customer support depending on which product you are using.

@MaryK4 can you please review your response?  I think you note the incorrect line item.  @user17749907019    The PTC repayment occurs on Sch 2 / line 1a. The sum of the taxes in this section maps to Form 1040, Line 17 and that adds to the non-refundable section of the tax return.   The non-refundable portion of AOTC occurs on Sch 3 / line 3.  The sum of this section maps to Form 1040, Line 20 and that subtracts from the non-refundable section of the tax return.    While it may not be logical, it's how Congress passed the law.  I wouldn't presume Congress is always logical.
It would be good to have your 2024 return available as well as your drivers license and bank account information. Most often these are random checks so don’t stress.

I have submitted multiple times and verified that all the information is correct including deleting From 8889T or what ever it is, and then answering the interview for HSA all over again. My wife and I are under the same HSA account I am the only one making contributions through my company. It appears i over contributed but i have no way to withdraw the contribution in the old HSA since there is not money in it. How do i get my Returns accepted??  TurboTax is not helpful at all.

Thanks for your reply.  I went through my return several times, and everything is entered correctly.  The erroneous message would not go away.  I gave up trying to e-file, and just printed it and mailed it in.  I hope Turbo Tax can fix this glitch next year.   There needs to be an easier way for Turbo Tax customers to report software glitches.
Box 15 says NY, my wages in box 16 show all I made working and living in Florida and box 17 for state tax shows an amount. Same happened in W2 from 2023. I'm worry I may owe state tax to NY.

It USED to be that you could 'add supporting details' and on each line put the account number and the total amount reported for each account. Then the supporting details table would total the individual amounts for you and it would be just like the form received in the mail....one mailing....multiple 1099-INTs shown in the one document, one for each account, same institution. Did it this way last year. This year it's not allowing me to put in supporting details, and frustrated that I have to do separate 1099-INT forms for each account for the same institution.    Why did this change?

My wife is a foreign national who receives income in the USA so she receives form 1042-S. Previously when entering income information into Turbo Tax I entered details on form 1099-R and I was later able to prepare a substitute 1099-R after indicating a missing form. This step is missing in 2026 TT. How do I prepare substitute 1099_R (form 4852)
