If the numbers on your 1099-Q have decimal values (i.e. dollars and cents, like $00.00), you can try rounding those values up or down to the nearest dollar, and entering them as whole numbers. (i.e. $0)
The IRS will not accept any dollar values that are not rounded, and will be expecting the software to round off those values regardless, so you can try entering them as rounded values in the first place, to see if this corrects the issue.

Well that is new and unacceptable, if true. I am a 10-year online user and could always access my forms and worksheets.

On the How do you want to add your docs? screen, select Upload, then Continue.
At the screen Upload your documents, upload the information.
I have been able to convert a CSV file to a PDF file and upload the document.
In TurboTax Online Premium, at the screen Upload your documents, I uploaded the PDF file.
I was required to Review each of my entries. Consider trying to upload a smaller file to test the operations.

The TurboTax Free online edition is for very simple tax returns that do not require any other form or schedule other than the Form 1040. If your tax data requires entry on any other form or schedule then you must upgrade to the Deluxe edition or higher.
If you have not paid for the online edition you are using, have not filed your tax return or registered the Free edition, then you can clear your return and start over with a lower priced edition. Click on Switch Products on the lower left side of the program screen while working on the 2025 online tax return. Click on Clear & Start Over
Go to this TurboTax website for the Free online edition - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/free-edition.jsp
Please Note -

Unfortunately, the hardship allows you to take the withdrawal from your 401k, but it does not exempt you from the penalty for early withdrawal. Under the SECURE 2.0 Act (which is fully active in 2026), there is a specific exception for "Emergency Personal Expenses", but you can only exempt up to $1,000 from the 10% penalty once per year for "unforeseeable or immediate financial needs." You can indicate this in TurboTax for partial exemption.
You would have to qualify for another exception for full exemption. See 401(k) Early Withdrawal: Understanding the Consequences.

@bluepig2020 @kdhiggins96 @trauma01 For those using the "Desktop" software: OK!!!!, this morning's update (1 February) "seems" to have fixed it....(at least for the desktop software) And a weekend update is unusual. BUT You may have to go thru the entries again if you haven't entered addresses yet for certain charities. But look closely, I have no idea if it covers all of your situations.

If you ever made a non-deductible contributions to your Traditional IRA, then that is the amount that you would report as the basis in the IRA. Non-deductible contributions do need to be tracked in your own records over the years in order to accurately show how much of the account should not be taxed when it is withdrawn.
If you do not have those records and cannot access them from another source, then your best course of action may be to report that the basis is zero and all of the distribution will be taxable. Be aware that it is possible that the IRS could request those records in the event that your return is audited.

New York has high standards for nonresidents to file, potentially after just one day of earning state-source income. However, these are the applicable filing requirements according to the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance website:
If you are a New York State nonresident you must file Form IT-203, Nonresident and Part-Year Resident Income Tax Return, if you meet any of the following conditions:
You are a nonresident with New York source income and your New York adjusted gross income Federal amount column (Form IT-203, line 31) exceeds your New York standard deduction.
2025 Standard deductions Filing status
Single (and can be claimed as a dependent on another taxpayer's federal return)
$3,100
Single (and cannot be claimed as a dependent on another taxpayer's federal return)
$8,000
Married filing joint return
$16,050
Married filing separate return
$8,000
There is further information on the NYSDTF website, but you should check your federal filing status (single, married filing joint, etc.) then compare that to the chart for the New York standard deduction amounts.
If, for example, you're a single filer, and no one can claim you as a dependent on their tax return, and you earned less than $8,000 in NY-source income, you do not have to file a New York nonresident tax return, because you are below the filing threshold.
Enter your income and withholding amounts exactly as they appear on your W-2, and the software can populate the correct resident and any nonresident returns for you.

For years I have had the option of saving 1) required IRS forms and 2) all forms and worksheets. This year, I cannot find access to the many forms and worksheets used to prepare my tax filing. For example, I cannot see my Qualified Dividend and Capital Gains Tax Worksheet, which I need. How do I get access to it? I'm using the DoItYourself Premium version.
