Unless you are claiming your granddaughter as a dependent on your own tax return, you cannot enter anything about paying her tuition on your tax return.   Gifts to family members are not deductible.     Gifts given to family members, friends or other individuals are not deductible.   Gifts received are not taxable to the person who received the gift, and are not entered on a tax return.   If your gift exceeds the yearly limit ($19,000 per individual)  imposed by the gift tax rules, then you will need to complete a Form 709 gift tax form and send it to the IRS, although it is very unlikely that you will owe any tax.   TurboTax does not support Form 709.  It is not an income tax form and would not be included as part of an income tax return.   Here is a link to the form: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f709.pdf   https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/estates/the-gift-tax-made-simple/L5tGWVC8N     Here's a link for Form 709 preparation software:  https://www.puritas-springs.com/product-category/federal   Here are some useful videos on the Form:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5wJow5h-No   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Z_28sVOrTY

Thanks for your reply.  No, that's not what happened.  I may have used the wrong words. His sister died.  She had an IRA.  He received it as an "Inherited IRA" that was new to him.
how do you file if you have 6 people
No. Unless she is your dependent and you intend to claim education credits.
Form 2016 (Technical Recruiter Sales)) shows I have two home offices and I do not. I can't delete the second home office entry and as a result, it won't let me efile.

I have both rental properties and a royalty on another property. The error said that "Income from rental real estate and incomel from royalities must be reported as separate properties on Schedule E." Is there a bug in turbo tax that does not separate them? if so, will there be an update? If not, how can I separate them?

Please make an engineering ticket for this being a bug. We aren’t holding it wrong. Your software has a bug. Bad UI/UX that guides the user to horribly incorrect results, is just as much of a bug as any other logic bug.   The later form asking you to manually input an adjustment should first automatically present you with the Form 3921 info you’ve already entered earlier and it should then explain something like “You’ve already reported XYX adjustment. Please use this form to make further changes, if needed. This is uncommon."

I sold some of my company stock acquired through ESPP last year. I got both the 1099B from the broker and form 3922. As I’m adjusting my cost basis box 1.a on the 1099B shows 11.124 shares. However, form 3922 box 6 shows 11.120 as the number of shares transferred. As result I got an error. I double checked and everything was entered correctly. Should I make both number match since 11.124 was the actual number of shares sold? In addition to that there was an item listed as w2 disposition and it states it should be listed on a the w2 but I couldn’t find that. Should this be ignored? Please help, thank you.
