I have done all of the above, and it did not resolve the problem. This is an obvious TurboTax bug, and the problem lies in the processing of the W-2 information. I have maxed out my 401k contributions, which is $31,000.00. If I don't enter Box 12 Code D from my W-2, all seems to work fine. I then did 'Back', updated the W-2 Box 12 Code D and entered $10,000.00, then all still seems to work fine. Back again, updated to $20,000.00, again, all works fine. Back, and updated to $30,000, and again, all good. Back again, entered $31,000.00, and it fails when clicking 'Done with Income'. Restart, enter $30,500 (the 2024 max), and all good. Back, and enter 30,501, and hangs and crashes!!!!

The vehicle section is not complete at this point in time per TurboTax. It says it should be ready by early February or sooner
Was it covered by insurance and if so, did you file a claim? The IRS denies losses when insurance is available but not claimed You can also take a deduction if there was no insurance or claim denied
The issue with TurboTax right now is that there seems to be no way to indicate it was removed from service due to a casualty. This could result in you inadvertently taking a loss on it twice. Once on form 4797 because of entries on the vehicle worksheet and again on form 4684. This may be fixed once the vehicle worksheet is updated
If you do not have good records as to business and personal usage or this was a personal vehicle converted to business use , there could be additional issues.

Several had resolved the issue in the following manner. I don't use a Mac, but this is what they reported above worked for them: Launching 2024 TurboTax program and letting it update. Then after updating 2024, open the 2024 return--don't change anything--just re-save it. Then they closed 2024 and opened 2025 and performed the transfer. A couple of other Mac users in other threads reported that simply restarting their computer had worked for them.

No one else can see your tax return. Did your dependents happen to turn 17 in 2025? If so, you lost the child tax credit. Or it is possible that you entered something incorrectly about your dependents in MY INFO.
Go back to MY INFO, click the child’s name and go through all of the interview questions carefully and slowly. Read every screen top to bottom.
Make sure you have entered your child as a dependent in My Info, and that you have entered the child's Social Security number. Careful— do not say that your child’s SSN is not valid for employment. If your child was born in 2025 make sure you said he lived with you the whole year. There is an oddly worded question that asks if the child paid over half their own support. Say NO to that question.
Have you entered income from working in 2025? If not, you will not receive an income tax refund based on having dependent children.

Many federal and state forms are not yet available. Check here for form availability. The dates are subject to change.
Tax form availability tool
Be patient.
IF you e-file now, your return will go into “pending” until the IRS starts to accept/reject returns in late January. You cannot make any changes while the return is on the server. The IRS will start to accept/reject 2025 e-files on January 26. And….a state return cannot be accepted until after the IRS accepts your federal return.

Yes my amended return was only related to the foreign tax credit, mainly reporting foreign taxes not reported earlier. Follow up on my earlier post: I received another letter from IRS few days after the initial denial letter. This new letter says that they have made changes to my return and as a result I am due for a refund.

Yes, many adaptive and mobility devices are tax deductible as medical expenses. In general, a doctor must prescribe or order devices such as a wheelchair in order to treat a specific medical condition (i.e. not just for general health) to be deductible as medical expenses.
In addition, you must be itemizing your deductions on Schedule A instead of taking the standard deduction in order to take advantage of these medical expense deductions. The expenses must exceed 7.5% of your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI).
