If you are having trouble importing your 1099:
Make sure you are selecting the correct entity, there are some entities that have similar names.
You also need to consider that both TurboTax Online and TurboTax Desktop support up to 10,000 of any combination of transactions and imports. If your file is larger, you will not be able to import it.
Check to see if your web browsers require permission to let a website send data to a program on your computer. See the following TurboTax help article for more information.
Make sure that your pop-up blockers are off.
Switch to a different browser.
Make sure that you enable third-party access to your brokerage account information.
If these do not work see the following TurboTax help article for more troubleshooting ideas:

If you did not intend to enroll in Max benefits, you can remove them before you have paid. You can do this in the File section of your TurboTax program. Go to your "Review your order" screen and click "Remove" next to the Max Benefits option. If you cannot find the option, you can use "Clear & Start Over" under "Tax Tools" to remove the fee. To do this, you can: Open or continue your return in TurboTax Online. Select File in the left side of your Turbotax screen Continue through the screens until you reach Step 1: Review your order. Select Start or Revisit. On the order summary screen, select Remove under the Max Benefits section. Select Remove MAX on the next screen to confirm. See this link: Can I remove MAX? First do as DoninGA advised.
As of September 30th, 2025, the IRS won't be issuing paper refund checks.
The CP53E is an IRS notice that informs you that your tax refund is frozen because your return does not include a valid direct deposit Bank on your 2025 Form 1040.
When you receive the CP53E notice, you have 30 days to update or add a new bank account.
Access or establish your online account by visiting your account to add or update your bank account information.

a structural flaw in Turbotax. Do not answer the questions for 2024 since you did not use the last-month rule.
In your case, the best way to work around this bug in Turbotax is to say you had family coverage from January through September and none for October through December. This disqualifies you from using the LMR. The IRS does not see this
enter your actual contributions and then enter yes to removing the excess.

I found a bit more information. In 2022 the entire Roth balance in my 401K was moved to a Roth. The Roth balance was less than the Roth contributions to the 401K due to losses. Also in 2022 the entire after-tax balance in the 401K was also moved to a combination of Roth and IRA accounts, leaving only pre-tax funds in the 401K. For the 2022 tax year I received 1099-R statements, one for the Roth transfer and one for the after-tax transfer. The 2022 1099-R Roth statement showed the Roth amount transferred (that was less than the Roth contributions). In 2025 the entire 401K, containing only pre-tax funds, were rolled over into an IRA account. The 401K account was then closed. I received two 1099-R statements for 2025 taxes. One shows the full amount rolled over from the 401K to the IRA. The second 1099-R is the issue. It has zero in box 1 and 2a. It has the Roth contributions minus the Roth transferred amount (i.e. the loss) from 2022 in box 5 and code B in box 7. Fidelity state that this loss was carried forward in case more contributions might have been made after 2022. Because the 401K account was closed, this triggered the second 1099-R. Fidelity state that there are no errors on that 1099-R. When I enter the values from the second 1099-R into TurboTax an error is flagged during review stating "Form 1099-R (Fidelity Investments): Gross distribution amount should have a value and should be greater than $0.50". How do I enter the 1099-R into TurboTax without triggering an error. Thanks

I only see the checkbox on the desktop version. On the online version, the only option is to enter a foreign address and select the country. I’ve done that, but and I get 27.5y.

I bought a copy of Turbotax desktop version from a 3rd party online vendor. I downloaded it and activated it with the supplied activation code. I entered my income tax details and tried to file my taxes. I could not get to the screen where you enter your credit card to pay for filing the state tax return. I contacted Intuit and the 1st level support person (who was very patient) tried several things which did not solve the problem. She contacted their 2nd level support. That person immediately asked me for my activation code. He said this activation code was on a list of bogus activation codes. Apparently, the software vendor was reusing these codes. The code works to activate the program but not for anything else. I then contacted the software vendor's support and got a different activation code and replaced the one I was using. I was then able to file my state tax return after entering my credit card to pay Intuit the $25 fee. Note: had I not gotten a new activation code, I would still have been able to file my federal return since it is free. If I hadn't gotten help from the software vendor, I was preparing to print out my state tax return and mail it in. Beware of purchasing Turbotax from a 3rd party vendor, especially one that seems to be selling it very cheap. Also, I hope that Intuit informs their 1st level support people with the solution to this problem.
