I have no idea what is going on with this bank and cross river bank who are also involved in I got a tracking and account number and cannot get a live person to talk too. I went to the IRS office and they are launching an investigation to find out where the money is. At this time my hands are tied but you can rest assure I will never use Turbo tax again.

If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the $40 service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the $40 service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.
For the status of your tax refund you will need to contact the third party processor, Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, using their website - https://www.sbtpg.com/

For the federal return, the only way to record a third part designee on the Online product is to print your return and manually enter it before you mail the return. There is no way to enter this if you e-file.
Some states do ask you in the state interview if you want to name a personal representative. If this is what you want, come back and tell us which state.

Using the TurboTax online editions it is not possible to enter a third party designee if you are going to e-file the tax return.

@mikealjanvier07 A rejected TurboTax return means the IRS or a state agency found a data mismatch, such as an incorrect SSN, dependent error, or AGI mismatch, someone already claimed someone SSN. To fix it, sign in to your TurboTax account, select "FIX MY RETURN" to view the specific error code, correct the information, and re-file/resubmit your return. Other issues can be a random space from a copy/paste so you may need to just reenter a SSN or information.
Please let me know the specific error code if you need more help.

@Option-1 , you are correct it would be nice to know the reason for not triggering form 1116. You say you have no allowable FTC or that the US tax on the foreign source income is zero ? I saw one case where the foreign rental income under US laws was negative/ no tax but under the foreign country tax laws attracted Foreign Tax. Again TurboTax did not explain to the user why no form 1116.
Is there more one of us can do for you ?
If not then till next year

IRS Publication 970, Tax Benefits for Education states that nontaxable distributions should not be entered.
The 529 is not taxable when used on eligible expenses along with qualified room and board.

So last night I largely completed my taxes but I have to file an extension due to an error on a 1099-R. Anyway, I paid an estimated federal amount due that was very close to the total I owed, entered that into the appropriate space which nearly zero'd out my federal owed, and logged out. I wrote down the amounts I had remaining for both federal and state. I just logged in a few minutes ago and to my amazement my federal owed jumped up over $1,700 and state jumped an additional $400. Just from logging in to the online version. Really gives me a whole lot of confidence in this god-awful service after the mess with it saying it was going to file my return when filing an extension last night. I have no idea if my taxes are anywhere remotely close to correct now. Fix your sh*t Intuit. This will be the last year I use this service.
