Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.
Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.
If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_...
After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer. “21 days” is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2025 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
https://www.irs.gov/refunds
To track your state refund:
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr
If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing

If you are getting earned income credit on line 27 or additional child tax credit on line 28 You are subject to the delay required by the PATH act. Do not expect your refund before early March

Note: “Accepted” is not the same as “approved”. TurboTax tells you the e-file was accepted if the IRS deems that there is enough information on the return for them to take it in for processing. Only the IRS can approve of the refund, which is a later stage of processing. If the IRS approves your refund they will provide a date for the refund to be issued.
FROM THE IRS WHERE’S MY REFUND SITE:

How it works
Where's My Refund shows your refund status:
Return Received – We received your return and are processing it.
Refund Approved – We approved your refund and are preparing to issue it by the date shown.
Refund Sent – We sent the refund to your bank or to you in the mail. It may take 5 days for it to show in your bank account or several weeks for your check to arrive in the mail.

You don’t actually fill out a specific disability form to report your income. Instead, you just report the payments using the tax forms the insurance company or your employer sends you, usually a W-2 or a 1099-R.
The main thing to be aware of is that if your employer paid for the disability policy, the money is taxable and you'll report it as income on your Form 1040. If you paid for the policy yourself with your own after-tax money, the payments are not taxed.
See: Is disability income taxable? for more information.

Yes, if you want to be sure of your calculations on the difference in tax you should use 2024 TurboTax.
Taking the Credit in TurboTax (Must use TurboTax Desktop) How to switch from online TurboTax to the TurboTax software?
There are two components to taking the credit in TurboTax. The first part entails determining the amount of the tax that was overpaid in the year the income was received. This requires using the TurboTax Desktop product (or another method) to determine what the tax liability would have been without the income.
The credit can only be applied using the TurboTax Desktop product installed on a computer, in the Forms mode.
Switch to Forms mode by clicking on Forms icon in the program.
In the list of forms on the left click on 1040/1040RSR Wks above the Form 1040 itself.
Scroll down to Other Credits and Payments Smart Worksheet (near the bottom) and enter the amount that you have computed on Line D Claim of Right, IRC 1341 credit for repayments of prior year income.
Click on the Step-by-Step or Easy Step icon in the upper right corner to return to the interview mode and finish working on your tax return.
What is a claim of right repayment?

What is even more insane is that I filed yesterday, had the return rejected and was informed to refile on February 19. Can anyone explain why the OP must wait until 2/13 while I must wait until 2/19? Like others here, I have been using TT since Rover was a pup. Am re-thinking that decision.

You cannot change or add anything on the return that you just e-filed, nor can you stop it. It is too late, just like when you put an envelope in a US mailbox on the corner. The IRS does not allow you to take it back.
If you left out a W-2, a 1099G, or a dependent, or a 1099 etc…DO NOT change your return while it is “pending.” The changes will go nowhere.
Now you have to wait until the IRS either rejects or accepts your return. If your return is rejected, you will be able to go into your account and make the necessary changes to your tax return and re-submit your return.
If the IRS accepts your return, however, then you have to wait longer until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund. THEN you can prepare an amended tax return and e-file or mail it in. You have to be able to work from that return exactly the way it was when it was e-filed originally. You will need to use a form called a 1040X.
Meanwhile, DO NOT go in and start changing anything on your return in the system, or you will make a mess for yourself. Sit tight and wait until you see what the IRS does with the return you just e-filed
The Form 1040X you need becomes available in late February, But wait until your return has been processed.

The IRS Form 1040-X for amending a federal tax return is estimated to be finalized and available in TurboTax on 02/19/2026
If the return is accepted you will have to amend your original tax return. An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.
Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.
See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a current year tax return - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-federal-tax-return-current-year/L7eS6o1qh_US_en_US?uid=lfunevhk

If you are trying to change the Schedule C box 32a answer, it only comes into play if your Schedule C business is showing a loss.
To review whether or not all of your investment in the business is at risk in this situation, use the following steps when using the Home and Business desktop version of TurboTax:
Go to your Schedule C business input screens
Go to Final Details > Special Situations and click Start or Update
Check the box labeled 'I have money invested in this business that I'm not at risk of losing...' if this situation applies to you
When the box described above is checked, then Schedule C line 32b will be checked and you will need to enter further information about your investment in the business. Otherwise, Schedule C line 32a will be checked when there is a loss.
If you are using TurboTax Online, use the following steps :
Go to your Schedule C business input screens
Go to Uncommon Situations and edit this section
Go to the screen titled 'At-Risk Limitations' to check the box that matches your situation to fill in Schedule C box 32 properly

You should answer No to the question asking whether the business stopped operating in 2025. Even though North Carolina administratively dissolved the LLC, the business never stopped operating.
You should file your 2025 return as usual, reporting all income and expenses. Once the reinstatement is approved, it restores the LLC as if the dissolution never happened for state-law purposes. This doesn't change how the IRS treats your tax filing.
