Bump.  Any thoughts on this?  I’ve been researching.  Can’t find anything addressing this situation.  I figure she doesn’t qualify to take the 20,000 adjustment as divorced.
where can i find my 1095-A form if it didn't come in the mail
Fixed through another post.

I would like to have the return incase I need to amend the return. Is the license code not displayed when you use the Products tab of your Intuit Account?  I'm surprised Customer Support couldn't find it.   Some characters are confusing such as 0 (zero) and O (letter), 1 (one), l (lower el), I (capital i), etc.   These are just some thoughts on how I might troubleshoot if it were me.  And I'll tell you how to invoke the refund policy below, if needed.   Did you change anything in your computer hardware system lately that was different then when you originally activated your software and filed your returns?  For example, do you have a thumb drive or external device plugged into the computer that wasn't there when you first activated the software?  Or vice versa, when you installed the software, was there a thumb drive/external storage device plugged in?  Or have you installed a new hard drive, etc.?   Try running your TurboTax as an administrator to see if it stills give you the activation screen.  In Windows, to do that right-click on the icon and in the popup choose Compatibility tab, and then "Run this program as an administrator."   Keep watching the thread to see if anyone suggests something else.   TurboTax has a 60-day 100% satisfaction guarantee--no matter where the software was bought.   If you end up invoking that, see the FAQ below.    If you request a refund, be aware it will have you enter the current license and will deactivate it.   Refund Request https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/intuit-refunds/request-refund-turbotax-product/L834M6uyW_US_en_US The request submission form will ask for a photocopy of your Costco receipt, and there is a box where you can explain the details of your reason for requesting.   If you lost the receipt, you can get a reprint in store or at the Costco website.

I have had this same 'looks like your file is corrupted message' for years. I had it on my desktop and my laptop. After spending countless hours with an agent, they blamed it on my devices. I purchased a new laptop this year and same problem and error code. , No one seems to know why, so it is just easier to blame our devices. Their programs are expensive and e-file fees go up every year with no solutions to 'their' issues. I have used their products for over fifteen years and there always seems to be an issue with something. You think they would have perfected it by now? So frustrating.

This question has aggravated me for the last couple of years.  I do not have any non-deductible IRA contributions, and I tell the program that.  I take an RMD from an Inherited IRA (no non-deductible contributions), a regular traditional IRA distribution, and a traditional IRA -> Roth conversion.  I never understood why TurboTax asks for the year-end value of my IRAs.  It is not relevant. Your answer gives me a clue.  I tried to delete my 8606.  It kept coming back.  And that's because I have a Roth conversion, so section II of the 8606 gets filled in.  I hypothesize that TurboTax sees I have the 8606 and asks for the year-end value of my IRAs because that's needed for Section I of the 8606.  So even though I've told TT enough that it should know I don't need to fill out section I of the 8606, it is too unsophisticated to realize it does not apply to people with Roth conversions (and no non-deductible contributions). I agree with others who posted here that by now, this should have been fixed.  Ditto the complaints about references to the 5498, which most people won't have by April 15.  Ditto the complaints about no explanation of what "outstanding" means.  Overall, a pain point that TurboTax needs to fix.

Yes I do have form 8606 in 2024. In 2025 probably too. My question is how do I make Turbotax not to eliminate USD 1600 of taxes I owed due to making conversion from Traditional IRA to Roth IRA while having a balance in before tax Traditional IRA after i input my after tax traditional IRA contribution for 2025. How do I do it? Experts here confirmed 8606 for 2024 is correct, USD 1600 of taxes owed for conversion is correct, but how do I keep those taxes on my report after inputing info that I am making contribution to Traditional IRA for 2025 as well?

You will need to start in desktop version from the beginning,  And I am afraid I don't know if the Metlife discount applies to the desktop version.  You will have to ask Metlife that.  But roll last year's return into the desktop version and that should solve the problem for the balance in the IRA and the taxes due.
Two things to do:  You have to select in the property profile section that you converted it to personal use.  Then, you go through the assets and mark them as converted to personal use.

TurboTax uses total tax divided by total income simply to give you the big picture. As @CatinaT1 states above, the effective rate does not include everything. It isn't what you would use to actually compute your tax liability. It is just an informational number to help you plan. I agree with Catina that use the of the tax calculator is the better option.   If your rate is lower then TurboTax is using a larger denominator or excluding taxes from the numerator. Some items that have an effect are:  Muni bonds Social Security nontaxable Self Employment tax Refundable credits Look at your 1040 line 24 for total tax and line 9 for total income. You will be able to see the nontaxed income and refundable credits that are throwing off the calculations.   Of course, the biggest concern is the actual tax liability which is calculated on a smart worksheet (1040 between lines 15 and 16) or through the Qualified Dividends/ Capital Gain Tax Worksheet. You can look for those in your return.

How can I switch to desktop version and use Metlife legal plan discount, please? Will I need to start in desktop version from the beginning? I just tried to delete the 1099-R info in wages section and inputed everything again, but it didn't ask me about if I want to tkack the tax basis of IRA for future use. So it was not there. And after I deleted section in deductions about Tradi tional IRA contributions and did everything again it didn't ask me too. So where can it be?
Yes i did.  I moved back to the property from Feb 2025 onwards.
