Can you clarify your question? What is the source of the retirement distribution? What is the code in Box 7 or your 1099-R? What was your age on 12-31-25?

I do not know the order of the states that you were a part-year resident. I do not know the dates of residency in the three states. I do not know how income was earned in the states.
Under Your Info or My Info, I declared myself a resident of Utah but did not report that I lived in other states.
At the screen Did you make money in any other states, I reported that I made money in Michigan and California.
I presumed that there was one W-2 and the state income and withholding was reported on lines 15-17 of the W-2 for the three states.
In each state, I declared myself a part-year resident. In each state, including Utah, I was allowed to report Dates of Residency.

Hi, Last year, I received a signing bonus at the start of my employment around June 2025. I was asked to pay a portion of this signing bonus back earlier this year, in Feb 2026, after the 2025 W2 was generated by the company. I have NOT received a revised W-2C form from the company. Question: How do I report [in Turbo Tax] the portion of the signing bonus I had to pay back? Thank You.

To fix this error on Form AR3 in the Arkansas return. You will need to make sure that all the entries have a type and amount. Fix any incomplete or incorrect information and remove any $0 entries if applicable. Please review the reason for the reject. If necessary, make the appropriate change and re-submit this return electronically.
However, if the reject continues, you may want to file this return via U.S. Mail. To file your state return, print it and mail to the appropriate taxing authority.

You don't need to change it. The amount you enter for your RMD is only used to calculate a penalty if you don't take some or all of your RMD. If you took a distribution of 100% of the inherited IRA then you definitely met the RMD for that IRA.

Thanks but that is not possible because these fields are not editable and are greyed out in the form. After working with tech support the fix was: 1) fully uninstall turbotax (using a uninstall program on a Mac to remove all preferences and support files) 2) reinstall and redownload the state and try again, this finally allowed the state to accept

Thank you very much for your response. When I say "None of the above" it calculates the simplified method, which is what I want, but it does it for federal as well as New Jersey. For federal it was pre-tax contributions so I have to pay tax on the full amount, contributions and non-contributory portion. New Jersey was after tax contributions so that is where the simplified method comes into play. Turbotax does not seem to let me do it for just New Jersey and not federal.

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer. “21 days” is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.
"5 days early" means you are supposed to receive your federal refund from one to five days sooner than the refund date shown on the IRS refund site. If it does not meet that "at least one day sooner" date, they are supposed to refund the $35 fee.
You have to pay attention to the date on the IRS refund site.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2025 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

Thank you @RogerD1 for these detailed instructions. This is really helpful. So does this mean that I'll receive another Form 5498 in January 2026 for the other $7000 that's associated with the 2025 contribution? And that I'll once again need to enter $7000 next year? And was any of this information supposed to be entered on last year's filing? I think that's where I'm confused now. Just want to make sure I understand this correct, since the contributions were technically for different years, though they were made the same day, and then both converted to another type of account on the same day shortly after as well. And yes, the 2025 1099-R shows distribution code 8, J in box 7. Line 2a and 2b are blank. And IRA/SEP/SIMPLE is blank as well. I did receive a 1099 Consolidated for the regular brokerage account for 2025, on which the 1099-DIV had $213 in total ordinary dividends on 1a, and $161 in qualified dividends on 1b. Besides a detail breakdown of that $213, the rest of the 1099 Consolidated was was blank/zero.

Since you are filing a Joint Return (MFJ), the IRS essentially treats your combined expenses as one pool, even if they occurred at two different locations. You are eligible for the credit as long as the home where the heat pump was installed is the primary residence of at least one of the spouses on the return.
You need to select live together for the purpose of the 5695 filing as a tax unit. When you select no, the program thinks you are both living with other owners. Enter only the heat pump property and address of residence for one house on the 5695. Do not enter the second residence on 5695.

Yes, it was definitely on the server side and NOT something any of us as the users could fix. Looks like it was finally fixed sometime in the late afternoon yesterday (PST). But it's not right to make the users jump through hoops and spend WAY more time trying to fix it on their end before they address it themselves. Unless I have no choice next year or they, at least, offer some partial refund, I won't be using this part of the TurbotTax software suite for my returns again.

If your California carryover credit from Form 3804-CR relates to a K-1, TurboTax should flow the carryover automatically if you're importing your prior year return where the K-1 was entered. If you need to enter it manually: 1. Go to the California State Taxes section. 2. Navigate to the Credits area. 3. Find the option to enter carryover credits and select the relevant credit associated with your K-1. 4. Enter the carryover amount as shown on your prior year's Form 3804-CR. Make sure your K-1 details are entered correctly under the income section for accurate carryover tracking.
