Follow these steps since line 2 additions is not line 3 subtractions: Let's enter your 1099 a little differently. Open to the federal income screen Locate the troublesome 1099 Edit and remove the box 3 amount. continue Add a new 1099 using the payer information, etc from the original and leave all the boxes blank except box 3. Continue do not check to adjust interest. Do check government interest or my state doesn't tax all of this interest. Now, you have two 1099 forms created from one form. One has box 3, the other has all but box 3. Continue through to your state return and see what happens. It should be correct now.

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:
Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu.
Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website.
Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms.
Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit."
Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.
Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

TurboTax does the Alternative Marriage Calculation behind the scenes, and in many cases this does not reduce the amount of APTC to be repaid. If the total household income prior to the marriage is above the limit, it doesn't reduce the repayment.
Here's more detailed info about the Alternative Marriage Calculation and IRS Instructions for Form 8962.
If you entered the 1095-A and related questions correctly, switching to TurboTax Desktop would probably not provide a better outcome; however, here's How to Switch from Online to Desktop.

The TurboTax Free online edition is for very simple tax returns that do not require any other form or schedule other than the Form 1040. If your tax data requires entry on any other form or schedule then you must upgrade to the Deluxe edition or higher.
The Deluxe online edition is currently $49. If you requested to have the TurboTax account paid from the federal tax refund, there is a $40 service charge for that option.

I tried it last night and it worked for me for online submission. I submitted my taxes last night that included the updated form.

I also had an issue with getting some 1099s from Schwab. If on Schwab it shows as only a pdf available then that seems to be the problem. Mine just got fixed yesterday so try again. ALso, TT showed two Charles Schwab options for login. The second worked but not the first. Additionally, if you have multiple 1099 Bs with Schwab you may have another issue. I downloaded one and then when the second one was ready it downloaded but overwrote the first even though they are different account numbers. No matter what I did downloading one overwrote the other. The solution was to download both simultaneously. It will overwrite existing data so you don't need to remove prior versions.

Good afternoon. I updated my desktop version of TT Premier today and the 1040-ES continues prints not final. Perhaps it will roll in with the next update? Also, I found it odd when I computed my Federal estimated taxes for 2026, when arriving at the the part of the workflow where prompted to select "Which Method Do You Want to Use?", and the options are: 100% (110%) of your actual 2025 taxes ($xxx) 100% of tax on your estimated 2026 estimated taxable income ($xxx) <== this is the option I wish to use 90% of tax on your estimated 2026 estimated taxable income ($xxx) 66 2/3% of tax on your estimated 2026 estimated taxable income (farmers and fisherman only) ($xxx) TT responds for the bottom three options that: No payments Based on your entries, you have no estimated tax payment liability. We have not prepared vouchers for you. The only option that returns data is the first one (110% of 2025 taxes). Since I retired I don't want to use this option vs the second option (which returns no data or forms - I don't need the forms just the amounts by QTR to pay). Is this a bug related to the form not being final? Much appreciated!🙏

Same thing for me! It tricks you into thinking you HAVE to use the Expert and you don't, then it won't let you downgrade or even clear and start over! I worked with a Tier 2 support person who "accidentally" clicked something and it charged me again immediately and "confirmed" instead of "declined" the Expert service. Requested refund and crickets!!! The Tier 2 suggested I start a new fresh account and I did and submitted my federal tax return, but it won't file my state so have to do that on my own. They are sending me all kinds of alerts that I have 2 accounts now, but they won't send me any info on my return or deleting my data from the 1st account.

It looks like adding the 1099-MISC makes it look like I'm self-employed. Is this correct? I have taxes withheld going through less common income doesn't seem to be a good option.
