First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.     You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2025 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:    https://www.irs.gov/refunds   To track your state refund:     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr   If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/refunds-take-longer-others/L14YlqFrH_US_en_US?uid=lexdr7zh . https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/irs-refund-taking-longer-21-days/L2vRAJbdU_US_en_US?uid=lexe7lst         If you are getting earned income credit on line 27 or additional child tax credit on line 28 You are subject to the delay required by the PATH act.  Do not expect your refund before early March   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/internal-revenue-service/federal-refunds-delayed-due-path-act/L5jnQJsBi_US_en_US   Note:  “Accepted” is not the same as “approved”.  TurboTax tells you the e-file was accepted if the IRS deems that there is enough information on the return for them to take it in for processing.   Only the IRS can approve of the refund, which is a later stage of processing.  If the IRS approves your refund they will provide a date for the refund to be issued.   FROM THE IRS WHERE’S MY REFUND SITE: https://www.irs.gov/wheres-my-refund How it works Where's My Refund shows your refund status: Return Received – We received your return and are processing it. Refund Approved – We approved your refund and are preparing to issue it by the date shown. Refund Sent – We sent the refund to your bank or to you in the mail. It may take 5 days for it to show in your bank account or several weeks for your check to arrive in the mail.

You can make changes as long as you have not filed yet.   In the Other Tax Situations section, you can apply some or all of this year's refund to next year.   Scroll down to Additional Tax Payments and click START next to Apply refund to next year.    Consider applying this year's refund to your 2026 tax liability and avoid a penalty if: - You anticipate all or a portion of your 2026 income to NOT be subject to withholding. - Your tax liability for 2026 will be over $1,000 after credits and deductions are applied.
It sounds like you have prepared a tax return, but you have not filed it yet.  If it is asking you for your 2024 AGI, use zero or choose the answer that you did not file a 2024 tax return.

Its strange that TT does not have this feature in interview mode.   I seem to have solved the problem, can you confirm if this is valid?   in the self created 1099-INT I entered Interest income in box 1. In box 6 entered Foreign Tax as 0 and opened the 1099-INT in Forms mode and checked 6b box selecting the  Form 1116 that should include this foreign interest income and entered the same interest Box 1 amount in box 6d.   This carried over both the 1099-DIV and 1099-INT in form 1116   Is this valid? seems the review states there are no errors?   @AmyC @DMarkM1
I need to know where the taxable portion of the difficulty of care income goes if there is no w2 or 1099?
Yes, thanks, the override works and that's the way I dealt with this bug.

There is a new deduction for the purchase of a new 2025 car----you can enter the interest paid  on the car loan.   This deduction is not an itemized deduction--it will reduce the amount of income you are taxed on.   CAR LOAN INTEREST Go to Federal>Deductions and Credits>Cars and Other Things You Own>Car Loan Interest The amount will go on Schedule 1a and end up on Form 1040 on line 13b
Here is what the agent posted

If you are using standard deduction, your sales tax will have no effect on your federal tax due or refund.   Sales tax is an itemized deduction.   Unless you have enough other itemized deductions like mortgage interest, charity donations, medical expenses, etc. to exceed your standard deduction, the sales tax will not have any effect.

The education section is being revamped with updates expected by this weekend. This may or may not be affecting you. You may have a scholarship or Q that is affecting your tuition. If you need to add room and board, it will come after the update.   If your form is very simple and straightforward, delete it. A full or corrupted cache can cause problems in TurboTax, sometimes you need to clear your cache (that is, remove these temporary files). Online version: Delete the form/ worksheet- if possible, see How to Delete   Log out of your return and try one or more of the following: Don't use Internet Explorer. Clear cache and cookies, Sign in using a different browser. Sign in using a different device. Log back into your return. Enter the information again. Desktop version:  Delete the form Save your return while closing the program. Update the program Open Enter the information again.

Yes, an upgrade is required because form 8889 is generated. TurboTax Free Edition (and sometimes the "Basic" version) only handles simple 1040 returns with standard deductions. Because Form 8889 is considered a "Specialized Form" (like those for investments or self-employment), TurboTax moves you into the Deluxe tier to support the calculations and e-filing of that specific form.

For Online TurboTax here's one way:   With the return open, go to the left menu column and click on TAX TOOLS, then the subtab TOOLS. In the Tools Center choose the blue button Topic Search. In the topic search line enter the phrase estimated tax payments without quotes. Make the selection in the list (it may already be highlighted), and either double-click it or click the GO button. Next screen is Estimates and Other Income Taxes Paid. Expand the section Estimated Tax Payments. Choose the appropriate category and tax year you are reporting (Federal, state, local) and click START or Revisit. NOTE:  Before filing, make sure your Federal estimated tax payments correctly show on the Form 1040, Line 26, and that any state estimated tax payments (if applicable) show up on your state return.
I had the same issue, but this was fixed in today's update (2/26) in the Mac version.
To enter estimated tax paid in 2025  Go to Federal>Deductions and Credits>Estimates and Other Taxes Paid>Estimates

Where do I enter the amount of estimated taxes I paid in 2025?
Try entering the last 10 to 12 numbers and see if this works. Make sure that letter is listed in the sequence of numbers.
