Thank you. The "Forms Mode Scaling" instruction (first on your list) worked great, enabling me to select a zoom % that works on TurboTax only. Why doesn't TurboTax make this easier? Before finding your solution, I had tried the Accessibility option, but that enlarged everything on my MacBook screen, which I did not want to do. So, I was grateful to learn the "secret" keyboard combo that opened the "Form Scale" slider. It would be great if TurboTax for Mac offered an obvious menu option.

@SHELLIEWALKER1008 if the Social Security benefits is the Only income to be reported on the tax return and there is no federal income taxes being withheld, then there is no reason or need to file a tax return. Unless you also received a Form 1095-A for your health insurance through one of the State Marketplace Exchanges or from healthcare.gov then you must file a tax return.

Roger,   Thanks for your reply.  A bit of a circular discussion.  I spoke with Velux, and as mentioned, they have dropped out of the tax benefit program.  So there is no QMID available.  Yes, they meet energy efficiency standards, but that goes nowhere except to mention it somewhere on the tax form as justification.  And hope not to get audited.  The earlier suggestion, to put a "dummy" QMID code (e.g., A1B2) may be cleared through the Turbo Tax program, because anything is put in the entry box, but again it may lead to a letter from the government about it.     Again, it may all depend upon the probability of the government calling it out, which based upon the current budgetary issues, may be close to zero.

Assuming that you are filing a resident tax return Form 502, and "prior year tax" refers to the total Maryland personal income tax you were charged last year, then the amount that you want to enter into this field will be the 2024 Maryland 502 Line 34. Total Maryland and local tax. You can download your prior-year tax form, then print to PDF to view and locate this item using these FAQ steps: If you've started your return already Sign in to your TurboTax account. Make sure you're using the same TurboTax account (same user ID) as in previous years.   There are two ways to get your prior-year returns: Select Documents from the menu, use the dropdown menu to choose the tax year you want, and select Download tax PDF. On Tax home, scroll down and select Your tax returns & documents. Select the year you want and select Download/print return (PDF). If the year you're looking for isn't there, it might be in a different account. Go here to find all of your accounts. One of them should have the return you're looking for. In your message you said you were having the same problem with transmitting your return.  Our issue was that we could not file partnership returns with the State of Georgia.  It turned out that the State of Georgia was not accepting business tax returns until Feb 26.  So are you trying to file a partnership return with the State of Georgia?  Form 700?  If so have lunch and take a nap,  It worked for me.  That is we had to wait until the State of Georgia started to accept business returns.   Now if you are trying to transmit some other return, our solution is no help to you.   My guess is you are trying to transmit your personal (form 1040) and a state return.  Some general guidance is to transmit your federal return separate from your state return.  Transmit your federal return first.  by selecting the state return as I will file later.  If that works you know your federal return has no problems.  Then file the state return. If you have problems rerun the error checking program again.  Look at your data and see if you have any errors such as extra spaces like after your middle initial.  look for blank spaces that should have zeros like where you have added a title or description but no related value.  There is a whole lot more items that could be wrong.  If these hints don't work  submit your question again  as a new issue and give as much information as possable.

I am on the most current version of TurboTax Home & Business. Yes there is a feature that provides a FMV. However, each Donation line item is restricted to one type of clothing or household item. This is no way as flexible as what's in H&R Block, which is more similar to what we did in It's Deductible. Only difference is you can not pre-enter you donations throughout the year as we did in ID.   I am still not sure how we can import donations from some other 3rd party Charitable Contributions software.   Quite frankly this new FMV feature is a pain in the a$$.
