Also, confirm that your net Schedule C earnings (after the deductible half of SE tax) exceed the contribution.

In my case, my 2025 AGI is above the MFJ limit for the Previously Owned Clean Vehicle Credit, and my 2024 AGI is below the limit. So 2025 income is in fact the reason I don’t qualify under the current year test. That’s why I expected TurboTax Online to open the prior year AGI input and populate Form 8936 Part I line 3a, but I’m not seeing that option in the interview. Are there specific conditions or screens in the Used Clean Vehicle section that trigger the prior year income test? @AnnetteB6

Information for your name, you will need to change that in the federal section of the return, under My Info. To fix the rest of the information that applies to Illinois, please follow these steps carefully:
Make sure you have entered the previous year's AGI correctly
Verify your PIN
Make sure to enter all 8 digits (This is not your 5 digit federal PIN)
Verify your drivers license or state ID number is entered correctly
If it is your first year filing with your state, you will have to enter your Drivers License or state ID information
Enter each field exactly as it is on your Drivers License or state ID (First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Suffix (leave blank if necessary), and weight
You may not use an out-of-state or expired drivers license
You may need to print and mail your return if the reject continues after re-transmitting

@CatinaT1 recommends this process.
Use the trashcan icon in the Canadian Pension section next to where this appears, but you don't click Continue, because it creates a new Canada RRP Worksheet. So click the trashcan and go right back to Federal Review.
Also, consider using Delete a form in TurboTax Online. Follow these steps:
Down the left side of the screen, click on Tax Tools.
Click on Tools.
Click on Delete a form.
Find the form listed and click Delete to the right.

The "Lump Sum" for 2024 benefits paid in 2025 can be taxed at your 2025 rate OR your 2024 rate.
The TurboTax program is trying to decide if you would have paid less tax on that 2024 amount if it had been paid in 2024.
The taxable amount on the worksheet would exceed 85% of what you actually received in 2024 because the extra was not received until 2025. The program is adding it to the 2024 taxable amount to get the amount of tax that it would have generated in 2024.
Regardless, you'll report and pay any tax due on that amount on your 2025 tax return, but the tax applied could be the 2024 tax if that would have been less.

I don't understand what this worksheet is doing. I have over $100k in investment and other income, and about $30k in social security benefits. Line 1b counts a benefit exemption for living in a foreign country - but I have never lived outside the US (the program has my correct address and state and knows I live there all year). Why is it deducting all of my SS? Why is it assuming I live overseas?

Best action is to attach your log or other document showing your buys and sells with Form 8453, since you likely made summary totals on your return. Check Form 8949 on the form.
If you are e-filing your tax return, then mail your statements along with Form 8453 to:
Internal Revenue Service
Attn: Shipping and Receiving, 0254
Receipt and Control Branch
Austin, TX 73344-0254
If you need a blank Form 8453, you can download this pdf, enter your address information and check the box for Form 8949 (this form is really just a cover sheet). How do I mail Form 8453?

Yes, your Form 8606 is filled out correctly. The worksheet referenced with the * is found in IRS Publication 590-B on page 17. Using that worksheet determines the amounts on lines 15a and 18 of Form 8606.
Line 13 shows the non-taxable amount of the distribution, which is correct at $7,000. The taxable amount of line 15c is also correct at $0.
The taxable amount of the conversion from Traditional to Roth IRA on line 18 is also correct.
