You certainly may.  If you report as miscellaneous income or hobby income, you will only be able to report the gross proceeds, no cost of sales.  Do not know how much your cost basis on the sold items will be.   Using the Desktop version, the entries would be Miscellaneous income / Other reportable income / +Add.   Self-employment income or personal item sales may report the cost of sales but, I think, you are using a Basic version which may require an upgrade.   Post if you have further questions or need the Desktop entries.   @jrc0109
AI found this....  Siemens QMID for electrical panels is generally identified as S9A4   I have not been able to verifiy it neither on my panel nor by searching Siemens

Thanks for asking, but my information I'm entering is correct!  I'm just waiting to see the kind of delays others are experiencing with their Colorado returns this year.

Exit the review and go back to the 1098-T form in the Deductions and Credits section.   You can't edit that field in the review.   Once you edit the form in the Deductions>Education section, go back through the federal review.   To get back there where you can edit, see Where do I enter Form 1098-T (Tuition Statement)?   On the Education Summary page, click on the pencil icon to edit the zip code.      Check the 2-letter state code for that zip code.   Make sure the city and state match up to the zip code.  This error happens when the state code doesn't match what is on file with the IRS.  TurboTax follows the IRS for acceptable zip codes.  If the state code does not match the correct state, you will get an e-filing error.      Check that the 2 letter state abbreviation is correct here USPS Two–Letter State and Possession Abbreviations   (most common error) Make sure you've entered the ZIP code in either 5-digit or 9-digit format, for example, 12345 or 12345-6789. Look up the correct ZIP code for the street address in question.

I hear you, but can tell you 100% for sure that colleges handle 1098-T's in various ways.   For my son's college, they INSISTED (I talked to their tax people) that they are required to put all monies paid to them on the 1098 (not just Tuition/Fees).   Room & Board on the bill to them are considered part of "tuition and fees and related expenses."  Would not listen to any other input -- "this is the way we have done it for years" etc.    The 1098-T matches my actual bill to the penny... and my bill includes lots and lots of stuff besides tuition. And yet...  my daughter's school very neatly included only Tuition and Registration fees and NOTHING else, even though we paid them room and board in the same check we paid the tuition with. They do not do it consistently.  I have three colleges that all did them differently and all are sure they are doing them correctly.

No, TurboTax doesn't ask you the name of the charity in the follow-up questions.  When you select that your distribution was a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), the full amount of the distribution that's reported on your Form 1099-R will be on line 4a (IRA Distributions) of your Form 1040 or 1040-SR. The taxable amount reported on Line 4b will be the total distribution less the QCD amount and will have "QCD" entered next to it.   Your QCD will not be include on Form 8606 because it comes from pre-tax funds of your IRA.   Refer to the TurboTax Help article What is a Qualified Charitable Distribution? for more information.

The tiny print on that image says it could also mean your refund information you entered could not be verified.   Be sure you look at your actual state return to get the refund amount and that you are entering all other information correctly.   You can use the forum search tool to see if you see any other similar postings from Coloradoans.  Or you can phone the Colorado DOR tomorrow for assistance.  They should be easy to reach.   Contact info should be on their website for a taxpayer helpline.

I sold a vehicle in March of 2025 and The Car and Truck Expense Worksheet is not calculating the "Percent of business use" correctly. It shows Line 6, divided by 5c which should be 100%, since Line 6 is 285 and line 5c is 285, however it shows 25%.   Then I have a new vehicle purchased in March of 2025 and the Car and Truck Expense Worksheet shows 83.33% when Line 6 is 3,829 and Line 5c is 3,829, which should be 100%.

I absolutely understand.  When you are entering under the summary method, the adjustment codes mimic the workings of the IRS form 8949.  When working with the adjustment codes, it always seems like they work backwards.   That is why I entered the statement in item 2 as a warning.        2.  Enter the correct adjustment (not the cost basis) in the Total adjustments to gain.   You may want to try out the one-by-one method of entering the IRS form 1099-DA to see whether it works more easily for you.  That method does not use the same kind of adjustment method as above.  You will report the actual cost basis under #9 below.   On the screen Now, choose how to enter your sales, select One by one.  Select Continue. At the screen Next, we'll start entering sales from your 1099-DA, select Continue. You will now be able to enter the sales information.  Report Short-term transaction with basis not reported to the IRS or Long-term transaction with basis not reported to the IRS. Enter total proceeds,  total cost is $0, select The cost basis is incorrect or missing on my 1099-DA.   Select I have other boxes on my 1099-DA to enter. Enter information in box 1a and box 3a. At the screen Let us know if any of these situations apply to this sale, you may select I paid sales expenses that aren't included in the sales proceeds reported on the form. At the screen Let's find your cost basis, select Yes, I found my cost basis. Enter the cost basis in Cost basis.  Click Continue. Select Add another sale to add another entry. When finished, select Continue. There is a benefit of using the one-by-one method to record your 10 transaction that total the $92,744.  There is nothing to upload and nothing required to be mailed or sent to the IRS with your income tax return.  You just retain all of your records should, at some time down the road, a tax authority questions your computations.  Best to you.   @Max3721

Instead of indicating that you inherited the property you could indicate that it was gifted to you or that you bought it.  You can then use the date of inheritance as the acquisition date.  However, if you do this and you held the property less than a year it will be treated as short-term.  I recommend you stick with inherited, e-file your federal return and print and mail your New Jersey return.
