Am I able to file local income tax and get a refund on employer withholdings for Mansfield City income tax? My employer’s main office is in Perrysburg Ohio, which is the address on my W-2. We have an office in Mansfield that is used only once a month for a meeting and has supplies stocked there incase we need to stop in and pickup something (ie printer paper, folders) no secretary or anyone is at the Mansfield office except for these instances. I travel around a 4 county area for work and complete paperwork at my home which is not in Mansfield. Thank you for any guidance. @Hal_Al

Where does it say that today is the day for your refund to deposit? TurboTax only gives you an estimated date; the IRS gives you a date but tells you to allow up to five days for the money to post to your account.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2025 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
https://www.irs.gov/refunds
To track your state refund:
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr
If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/refunds-take-longer-others/L14YlqFrH_US_en_US?uid=lexdr7zh
.
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/irs-refund-taking-longer-21-days/L2vRAJbdU_US_en_US?uid=lexe7lst
If you are getting earned income credit on line 27 or additional child tax credit on line 28 You are subject to the delay required by the PATH act. Do not expect your refund before early March
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/internal-revenue-service/federal-refunds-delayed-due-path-act/L5jnQJsBi_US_en_US
Note: “Accepted” is not the same as “approved”. TurboTax tells you the e-file was accepted if the IRS deems that there is enough information on the return for them to take it in for processing. Only the IRS can approve of the refund, which is a later stage of processing. If the IRS approves your refund they will provide a date for the refund to be issued.
FROM THE IRS WHERE’S MY REFUND SITE:
https://www.irs.gov/wheres-my-refund
How it works
Where's My Refund shows your refund status:
Return Received – We received your return and are processing it.
Refund Approved – We approved your refund and are preparing to issue it by the date shown.
Refund Sent – We sent the refund to your bank or to you in the mail. It may take 5 days for it to show in your bank account or several weeks for your check to arrive in the mail.

You need to enter the Form 1099-K in the Other income section in TurboTax, and the Form 1099-K. On the screen that says What type of income is your Form 1099-K for? you should answer Personal Item sales. Later on the screen that says Personal items sales you can answer all items were sold at a loss or no gain if that is true and you will not be taxed on the income.

If you have received a notification from TurboTax that your return has been “Accepted” it means that the IRS has accepted it for processing. It does not mean that it has been processed yet, just that it is complete and accurate for them to start working on processing your return.
You might also get a message for estimated processing time. This is just an estimate, since TurboTax has no control over when the IRS or any state will process your return, once they have been “accepted” by them.
The IRS issues most refunds within 21 days, assuming that there is no delay and nothing is holding your return.
Also, some returns are subject to an automatic hold due to the Path Act when certain credits are claimed.

TurboTax often auto-checks this box because it detected a FATCA checkbox or Foreign Tax Paid on a 1099-INT or 1099-DIV that you imported.
Go back to Wages & Income and edit every 1099-INT and 1099-DIV.
Look for a checkbox that says "FATCA filing requirement" or "Foreign tax paid" (usually Box 6 or 7).
If you find one checked, uncheck it. If you imported the data, delete the 1099 and enter it manually. Many imports incorrectly flag this box.
If the 1099s look fine but the box is still stuck, the data is likely recorded on the Schedule B worksheet. If this is the case, you need to delete Schedule B and 8938 if this exists.
In TurboTax Online.
1. Go to Tax Tools > Tools > Delete a form.
2. Find Schedule B and Form 8938 (if it exists) and delete them.
3. Go back and re-enter your interest/dividends manually. This forces the software to re-run the "Foreign Account" interview from scratch.
In TurboTax Desktop:
1. Switch to Forms Mode (top right).
2. Open Schedule B
3. Scroll to Part III and manually click the No box for Line 7a. If it turns red or won't change, right-click and select Override (though deleting and re-entering is safer).
Sometimes the "No" doesn't stick because you haven't passed the specific "Foreign Accounts" screen at the end of the income section.
Go to Wages & Income.
Scroll to the very bottom and click Done with Income.
TurboTax will run through several "wrap-up" screens. Look for one titled "Tell us about any foreign bank accounts."
Answer No here. This is often the catalyst that overrides the other sections.

If you have losses, after entering your winnings, continue through the screens to enter your gambling losses for the year. TurboTax will automatically determine if itemizing your losses provides a better tax outcome than taking the standard deduction based on your overall tax situation.
You can only deduct losses if you itemize your deductions on Schedule A. If you take the Standard Deduction, you cannot deduct any losses, but you must still report all winnings. Also, you cannot deduct more in losses than the total amount of winnings you report. To claim a deduction, the IRS requires you to keep an accurate diary or log of your winnings and losses, including dates, locations, and receipts or wagering tickets.

This experience should be resolved with the update scheduled for Friday February 13, 2026. Because updates are released after business hours Pacific time, we recommend waiting until the day after to run Review again.
Note that TurboTax Online is automatically updated after midnight on form release dates. TurboTax for Desktop is updated when you first open the program.

Hi @DianeW777 thank you for your response. I appreciate it. I am using the Desktop version (mac) and I followed your instructions to delete Form 1116 Copy 2 (AMT) where the error is occurring. The software deletes and immediately recreates it with the incorrect or erroneous entry. So, unfortunately, deleting the form is not fixing the issue. I have written to support@intuit.com a week ago and have not heard from them. This is pretty bad service from Intuit in my opinion. But thanks for your help.

This is getting ridiculous. Now the reply says it will be updated after February 13th instead of by February 13th. Will an update be available tomorrow? We need this done!

When attempting to print a copy of returns, it refers you to log into Intuit and choose to begin an online tax return session. Clearly a broken link in the software.

You will enter $50,000 as the amount of Gross proceeds. Taxes are reported separately on Form 1116 so that you can receive the foreign tax credit.
For your Form 8949 and Form 1116 (Foreign Tax Credit) to line up, be sure to report the “Gross” amount on Form 8949. If you enter the “Net” amount (what you received in your bank account), you’ll end up counting the tax twice—as both a reduction in income and a credit—which isn’t allowed by the IRS.
