Do you not see the option?
When you get to the screen that says, "Get your federal refund faster" and it gives the option of Fast deposit to Credit Karma or a bank account, select "No thanks".
The next screen is "How would you like to receive your federal refund?" If you are eligible for the Refund Advance, you will see this as an option.
The Refund Advance is not available to everyone.
Here are a couple things to check:
If you are using a TurboTax partner affiliate link to use the software, the Refund Advance will not be available.
If you select the 5 Day Early Refund Delivery, you will not see the Refund Advance option, but you can return to the refund selection page and find all the options listed.
See this resource for more information:

"What I don't understand is why the insurance company is still coding these annual withdrawals as 1D." That's a question for the annuity company. It doesn't make any sense that they would continue to use code 1 since the SEPP plan effectively terminated when you reached age 59½ after having already completed 5 years under the plan. They should know that. Code 1 can be used to indicate a modification of the SEPP plan even when over age 59½, but since you had met requirements for being able to terminate the SEPP plan without penalty, they should know that your additional distribution in 2025 implied termination of the SEPP plan. With the code-1D Form 1099-R, you can claim a code 12 exception on Form 5329 line 2, "Distributions incorrectly indicated as early distributions by code 1, J, or S in box 7 of Form 1099-R."

Great - thank you! One follow-up question: my spouse's name is listed first and mine is listed second on Form 1098. His social security number is on Form 1098, but mine is not. Do I need to do anything to avoid an audit on my return since my social security number is not on Form 1098? For example, TurboTax has a box for, "Someone co-owns this loan, and I only pay a portion of it" - should I be checking that?

The 1099-Q isn't "broke" - you should not modify a 1099 of any kind. The 1099-Q should reflect the distributions paid to you (or the beneficiary) for the calendar year. If it's incorrect, contact the 529 custodian and ask for a corrected 1099. There is no box on the 1099-Q to enter qualified expenses - the custodian only enters the total of distributions from that account during the year, and how much was prorated to original contributions vs earnings. If you have the desktop version of TT, you can go to Forms and edit the student's People worksheet to enter each category of qualified (for 529) educational expenses. Those will then be transferred to the Student Info worksheet where the taxable amount of the distributions (if any) is calculated. Sounds like Online users are still stuck - though TT certainly has been made aware of this problem.

You may need to check the actual forms to be sure you have no hidden errors on your Arizona return.
Open your TurboTax Business return and click the Forms icon in the TurboTax header. In the list of Forms in My Return on the left, note any forms have a red exclamation point next to the name.
If so, click on the form name to open it in the large window. If a field appears in pink, there is an error on that form. Click the Errors icon above the forms list to open a message box below the form. The error message will give you more information about the issue that needs to be resolved.
Once you correct the errors, use the Step-by-Step link in the header to go back to the main screens. Run Smart Check again, then see if you can e-file the Arizona return.
If you still can't e-file, we recommend that you contact support here: What is the TurboTax phone number? Ask for a TurboTax Business specialist. Or you can upgrade to TurboTax Expert Assist Business for individual help.

It could be because of several reasons.
You haven't "Linked" the Income to the Credit
Entering the foreign tax in the 1099-DIV section is just the first step. TurboTax will ask you to finish the Foreign Tax Credit interview to confirm you qualify.
Go to Deductions & Credits > Estimates and Other Taxes Paid > Foreign Taxes.
When asked, select Take a Credit (not the Deduction).
You must follow the prompts until you reach a screen that asks you to select the "Country." Even for mutual funds, you usually select "Various" or "RIC" (Regulated Investment Company).
If you don't complete this separate section, the amount you entered on your 1099 will sit in "limbo" and won't flow to your Form 1040.
Your Tax Liability is Zero (or too low)
The Foreign Tax Credit is a non-refundable credit. This means it can only reduce the tax you owe to $0; it cannot give you "extra" money back.
Look at Form 1040, Line 18. If that number is $0 (perhaps because your standard deduction and other credits already wiped out your tax), the Foreign Tax Credit will be $0.
TurboTax will automatically turn that "unused" credit into a carryover for next year. You haven't lost the money; you just can't use it this year.
The "Passive Income" Category
For foreign investments, the IRS requires you to categorize the income.
In the Foreign Tax interview, ensure you select "Passive Income" for dividends and interest.
If you accidentally select "General Category" or "Section 951A," and you don't have matching foreign wages or specific business income, the credit will be calculated as $0 because the "categories" don't match
