If you are not a dependent of someone else, you may not have to file a return if your interest was under $15,750 (check your state's minimum threshold for filing as well). See Do I need to file a federal return this year? for more information.

Delaware return - Token #164879296-06696063. Both issues are NOT dependent on taxpayer data. First is Line 8 of Annualized Installment Method - Standard Deduction reflected under 65 amount of $6500 and not over 65 amount of $11500, Second issue is in Computing the Over/Under Payment - Line30 Delaware Withholding - Turbo tax returned quarterly amounts when DE time periods are 1/1-4/30, 5/1-6/15,6/16-9/15 and 9/16-1/15

Received a 1099-NEC from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board as part of the Teach for Texas Loan Repayment Assistance Program. This is a 3rd party and I am not employed by them. When I attempt to add the 1099-NEC, none of the options presented seem to apply. It doesn't seem like it would be considered Self employment income, Farm income, Hobby, Lawsuit settlement, Medicaid waiver payments that qualify as difficulty of care, or Income that should've been reported on a W-2. How should I report this accurately and make sure I don't incur any additional unneeded tax consequences?

Thanks deslayton. Please keep us posted! Amazing that they hadn't heard about the problem. The Software never should have been released with this big of a bug.

Yes. You may still claim your daughter as your dependent because she was considered a student and was under the age of 24 at the end of 2025.
You are not required to enter Form 1099-Q, but should enter Form 1098-T on your tax return to get the Lifetime Learning Credit.
No. You do not need to enter anything on your daughter's return regarding Form 1098-T, nor Form 1099-Q, since you will be claiming her as your dependent.
No. You did not miss anything. If she only received Form W-2 and interest income, then that is all you need to input into her return.

Which TurboTax Software do you need to download to create 1099-NEC forms to send to the IRS? We used the online form from the IRS website to send to the contractors themselves, but need the official forms to send to the IRS. We requested that the IRS send physical copies via mail, but have not received them yet.

UPDATE*** I received my federal return yesturday. It was the correct amount, and Turbo Tax did not take fees out of it, like they did state. Everything is exactly as it was originally intended to be. I do believe Turbo Tax should refund ALL fees for this insane glitch that left THOUSANDS of people on edge. They lost SO many customers because of this. Also, their "experts" need to be called into questions. They are not at all tax experts, and we should not be paying as such. If anyone is starting a lawsuit, sign me up.
