Thank you Mindy. Yes I see that there should be no net effect on my taxes, what bothers me is the 1099K that the IRS is looking at thinking that I failed to report income from an eBay business. So I think it does have to be included in my tax return although the net affect needs to be zero. Thanks!

I was on the phone with TT support this afternoon and walked them through the issue via a shared screen.  She was super friendly and acknowledged there was a problem after we stepped through the process (toggling between the interview and the worksheet was helpful).  She elevated the issue and shared a note from her system that indicated the issue has been fixed in the latest update.  I was told to install the latest update and delete the 1098-T and 1099-Q and re-enter them.  Well, I did both and the issue is still not fixed.  Perhaps the update is still being rolled out.  Good news- we aren't all crazy and a fix is in the works.  Bad news-  who knows when the patch will be rolled out.   In case others want to call-  I used this support number: 1-800-446-8848.  Waited a half hour on hold and talked to a very nice human.     Who wants to bet Intuit vibe coded the revisions to TT this year : )  I love AI!
I need to print 2024 returns. I have been trying for over an hour. I am about to take my bus elsewhere

It depends on what your employer is trying to indicate.  There is no standard label for overtime yet.     Are you an exempt or non-exempt employee when it comes to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)?     If you are a non-exempt employee (generally if you are an hourly worker (or certain salaried workers) entitled to overtime pay), your employer is probably trying to indicate this overtime is exempt from tax. If you are an exempt employee that received overtime, then you don't qualify for the deduction.  Here is an article you may find helpful: No Tax on Overtime Explained: Qualified Overtime Deduction Rules for 2025
I have the same problem with Netbenefits, but I selected Fidelity Investments instead and it imported my forms!

I suspect the point of the QMID was to reduce fraudulent claims, and to make sure that legitimate claims actually qualified (for example, I installed a new A/C last summer but it was non-qualifying, for various reasons.  Someone with less tax knowledge than me might have tried to claim it.  Not to mention salespeople who are misinformed or just lie to their customers.)

First be sure you have the correct birth date for yourself or each spouse on a joint return. Next you can preview your tax return because it's not part of the standard deduction. It is a separate deduction from income and not a credit. See the instructions below to check for it on your tax return. To qualify, the following must apply: If your income is above $75,000 ($150,000 if Married filing jointly) the bonus deduction decreases by $.06 for every dollar over the relevant amount.  This deduction is available whether you itemize or take the standard deduction. If your filing status is married filing separately you are not eligible for this deduction. This bonus deduction is ONLY for those over 65, it does not apply to those who are blind and under 65.   From the left rail menu in TurboTax Online, select Tax Tools (You may have to scroll down on the left rail menu.) Select Tax Tools On the drop-down select Tools On the pop-up menu titled “Tools Center”, select View Tax Summary  On the left sidebar, select Preview my 1040  See Line 13-B on your 1040 for the amount. Can you clarify if you are referring to Quick Employer Forms?  Quick Employer Forms (QEF) is primarily designed for electronic filing (e-file) of W-2 and 1099 forms with the SSA and IRS, not for generating paper copies for mailing. When using QEF, Copy A is transmitted electronically, meaning you do not need to mail paper copies to the SSA.  See Quick Employer Forms FAQs.
I don't even see these options inside the application.
Because my computer was hacked, FIdelity assigned new account numbers to my account and issued two seperate brokerage 1099's. The system only enters only one of the 1099's. How do I fix this?

Amending will be available later this month. The IRS is not ready to accept amendments this quickly in the tax season.   If you want to make changes or add a document to a tax return that has already been filed and accepted by the taxing agency, you should follow these guidelines. Be sure your tax return is accepted and processed.  The 1040-X is scheduled for later this month.  The IRS is not yet ready to accept amendments. The link below will keep you updated on the release date. Check to see if you need to amend your state as well. Do not change your original return until you have reviewed the information so that TurboTax knows the original numbers and the corrected numbers.   You must first wait until the initial return is completely processed. You will have to use the same TurboTax account that you used for the original tax return. Once you begin your amendment, you'll see your original return. The refund calculator will start new at $0 and only reflect the changes in the refund or tax due Only make changes to the areas of your return that need to be corrected. You have three years from the date you filed your return or two years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment Amend a tax return for the current tax year Tax Form Availability

You paid Estimates.   To enter Federal or State Estimated Taxes Paid, including a state estimated payment made in January for the prior year, go to Federal on left or at top (Personal for Home & Business) Deductions and Credits Then scroll way down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid Estimates - click the Start or Update button   ps....you were not an employee.   Employees get a W2.   You are an Independent Contractor and have to file Schedule C for self employment income in your personal 1040 return.  You will pay 15.3% SE tax on 92.35% of your Net Profit (If it is greater than $400). The 15.3% self employed SE Tax is to pay both the employer part and employee part of Social Security and Medicare (FICA). So you get social security credit for it when you retire. It is in addition to any regular income tax you owe on it.   You can enter Schedule C for Self Employment Income into Online Deluxe but if you have any expenses you will have to upgrade to Premium version. Or use any of the Desktop Download programs.

It depends. If you enter your 1099-DIV then any capital gains distributions will be listed in box 2a and TurboTax will tax those amounts at the capital gains rates. Where do I enter 1099-DIV?  In TurboTax Desktop > Search (upper right) > 1099div > Jump to... begin your entry the same way If you did redeem some of your mutual funds and help them long term, then you will enter them as an investment sale from a 1099-B. If you choose manual entry - I will type it myself - be sure you use the correct holding period (correct dates) that will reflect the capital gain treatment. Where do I enter Investment sales? Holding Periods: Long term is a holding period of more than one year (one year plus one day) and receives capital gain tax treatment (0%, 10%, 15%, 20% depending on your regular rate of tax) Short term is a holding period of one year or less and receives ordinary gain tax treatment (your regular rate)
