Thank you for your response. I spoke with Ron in TurboTax Tech Support on the phone on Monday night and he had me generate the information you are requesting. The token is 1325140. He was supposed to call me last night after talking with his management, but I have not heard from him yet. I would appreciate any help from TurboTax to have this issue corrected ASAP, for my benefit as well as others from Idaho who may not catch the error.

@rmarolf If you have completed the federal tax return and gone through the Federal Review and you have deleted the state tax return, then click on Review on the left side of the program screen.  Once you complete the Review section you will automatically go to the File section.  The only tax return that can be e-filed is the federal return.
If an IRA is included in the New York State $20,000 exclusion rule, how would you list them under account type, since it does not list an IRA in the section
Answer no to the question since you don't have a separate cost. Only the other 2 questions are mandatory yes on that page.

When I started my return in TurboTax Deluxe Desktop, I stated that I had not received an MV-1 form.  So it asked me instead for a Motor Vehicle Personal Property Tax Receipt, which I provided.  But now I have received the MV-1 form, and I understand that I must file it, and include the Credit Claim Number.  But now in TurboTax, I cannot find a way to enter this, since I previously answered No regarding the MV-1 form.

We anticipate the depreciation calculations within the software should be updated after February 13, 2026. Our tech team is working hard to release the updates before that date.    Please be aware that this update will affect depreciation for Schedule E (Rental Properties) only. Schedule C (Self-Employment) was updated previously and should be working in all versions of TurboTax.

Follow these steps to remove the connected forms: In forms mode On the left hand side at the top, select open form Type 8962 into the search box Select the form- highlight it Select Open Form in the pop up box Now you should be able to see the form. Follow the above steps again for 1095-A   Now you should have both forms as part of your tax return. Give them a review and make sure there is no information pulling from somewhere else. Once the forms only have each other you will delete them.  Delete the form 1095-A, then the 8962. Check to see if either form has reappeared. If so, the program is holding the information for a reason and any cells need to be emptied- ties cut with any other forms/ information. delete forms again -if needed. Save your return while closing the program. Update the program Open Continue on with your return. @nv2089

@kimsiche As I initially posted.  The deduction amount for the no tax on tips will be reported on your Form 1040 Line 13b.   Since your reported tip income is shown in box 7 of the W-2, the calculation for no tax on tips is automatically calculated on the Schedule 1-A Part II.  The result is entered on your Form 1040 Line 13b.   You can view your Form 1040 plus Schedules 1, 2 and 3 at any time using the online editions. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.

No, a rollover is not the same as a contribution.  The entire amount of a 529 account, regardless of student income, can be rolled-over trustee to trustee.
Unfortunately, it is impossible to permanently delete the state return.  I can use the delete function, but I cannot proceed without first recreating the state return.

Just want to reconfirm, are you saying because I worked overtime for income I was exempt to paying taxes, I can't use that overtime to receive the benefit from the other job that did have taxable income? When I do a search online using AI, this is what it said:   Yes, you can likely claim the overtime credit (deduction) for the job where you are tax exempt, provided you have federal income tax liability from your second job.  The key factor is your total federal income tax liability for the year, not which specific job the overtime was earned from.  Here's how it works: The Deduction Applies to Your Total Tax Bill: The "No Tax on Overtime" provision allows you to deduct up to $12,500 of qualified overtime pay from your total federal taxable income when you file your tax return.  This reduces your overall federal income tax liability. You Must Owe Federal Income Tax: To benefit from this deduction, your combined income from both jobs must create a federal income tax liability before the deduction is applied.  Liability from Your Second Job Qualifies You: Even if Job 1 (where you earned the overtime) is tax-exempt, the income and taxes withheld from Job 2 create the liability. The deduction from Job 1's overtime can then be used to reduce the tax you owe on Job 2's income.   Or do I need to update another section within the form that will allow me to receive the overtime deduction for the job that has taxable income even though the overtime was earned by the first job that is tax exempt?

When you enter you mortgage interest in TurboTax, in the Deductions and Credits section and then Your Home, you will be asked for the interest paid during the year and the ending mortgage balance, as well as some other questions. From there the program will determine how much is deductible.
