My wife & I live in Philadelphia, PA and she works in Wilmington, DE (I work full-time in PA) On her W-2 she paid $3,762 to DE for 2025 but after entering all our info into TurboTax it is only calculating out a credit on our PA tax return from DE of $2,465 leaving us still owing PA taxes of $711. Why do we not receive a larger credit from DE to cover this amount still owed to PA?

You need to give proper answer. The issue is the prompt after import. You need to allow the popup for ttd-fdp-01-config to "Allow'

If you upload a 1098, TurboTax will post it exactly as it was presented by the lending institution. The program does not add or delete anything!
Since you posted the form manually suggests that you have a hard copy of the 1098.
Do you have a physical copy of the 1098?
I recommend that you post the correct information to your tax return.
I would then advise contacting the lending institution to confirm the Property Tax portion of the 1098 is correct.

I received 141 contingent dividend shares of a holding company at no cost to me and as part of a bankruptcy settlement with the issuing company. The shares were "locked" (couldn't sell them/no market.). In 2025, the shares became worthless. I tried entering this 1099-B as indicated in the screenshot. When I do an error check, Turbotax says I need to enter a holding period. It also says I need manually file a copy of the 1099 with the IRS using form 8453 or by mailing the 1099. My question is, do I even need to report this 1099 info since there is no sales proceed and the cost is $0 and the holding period is unknown? Alternatively, should I just select short term/uncovered, as that would maximize cap gain, if there was actually a capital gain? Thanks ~Bill Line from 1099-B Turbotax Interview

Yes. That is correct. If she was present for 148 days in VA for the purpose of grad school, and had no intention of becoming a resident, she would not meet the residency or part year residency test and would simply file as a Non-Resident. Yes, for 2026, since she will be present for more than 183 days she would be considered an "actual resident" for tax purposes for the entire year. This means all of her income would be taxable to VA.

Thank you for the guidance @MonikaK1, I will wait for 1-2 weeks and give it a try. I am a week or so earlier than last year. Have a good one.

Yes, you can mark two home as your primary home when entering mortgage interest. You cannot live in both homes at the same time as your primary home, but moving from one to another makes sense.

Out of curiosity, does the previous years rental property depreciation details carry over into the current year tax forms, or will I need to recalculate and re-enter it?

Only the "half" pay from time-and-a-half is deductible. For example, if you earn $40 per hour, and earn double time on Sunday, your Sunday wage is $80 per hour. You may only deduct the "normal" overtime premium of $20 per hour, although you earned additional overtime that day.
