You will be able to claim your adoption credit on next year's tax return. IRS guidance states that you can claim the expense the year after you incurred or paid them if the adoption is still in progress and not final. Adoption Credit.
If you pay qualified adoption expenses in any year before the year that your adoption becomes final, you can claim the credit for those expenses on your tax return for the year after the year you paid such expenses. Expenses paid in the year the adoption is finalized or later can be claimed for the tax year your expenses were paid.
There were positive changes made to the Adoption Credit in the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) that increased the federal adoption credit to a maximum of up to $17,280 per eligible child, and up to $5,000 becoming a refundable credit. Prior to 2025, the Adoption Credit was nonrefundable and could only be used to reduce your tax liability.

If you are filing as Married Filing Separately you are not eligible for the deduction. If you are Single and your AGI is over $150,000 or Married Filing Jointly and your AGI is over $250,000 you are not eligible for the deduction.
If you are age 65 or older and meet the requirement, the additional deduction is automatically added on your federal tax return.
Are you saying there is no calculations on the Schedule 1-A in either Part I or in Part V.

No. The sale of the car goes on 4797- sale of business asset. When you trade in/ sell your car, it is reported on your Sch C in the vehicle expense section to create gain or loss.
The only way to reduce self-employment tax is to find more deductions. The car is a good starting point. You claim the mileage, parking and other expenses.
Depreciating the new vehicle will also help but then you must continue that path. If you won't keep the car very long, actual expenses with depreciation may be the better path. Standard mileage is recommended when you plan to keep the car a long time.
It is frustrating to have a huge NOL carryforward and still owe SE tax on your income this year.

Feb 24 and TurboTax has totally failed. As a TurboTax user for well over a decade, it looks like I will be leaving this service. Trying to reach a human is a total joke and the pathetic AI helper tells me information totally not regarding my question and then having to wait for ever on hold is maximum poor service for expensive tax software. This has clearly become a company paying its executive to much money at the expense of its users. Maybe Tutrbo Tax and step up and provide all its farmers highly discounted tax filing this year!
