Yes.
It may be saying that the carryover from 2025 which the program will carryforward to 2026, has not started until after your 2025 return is final, but I have not run into that statement.

You are correct that there are exceptions to the 10% additional tax on early distributions from retirement plans for individuals under age 59½. The IRS regulations allow for up to $1,000 in early distributions to be exempt from the additional tax when the funds are used for emergency personal expenses.
Here is an IRS article that lists the allowed exceptions to the 10% early withdrawal penalty:
Retirement topics - Exceptions to tax on early distributions
You can look at the list to see if any of the other categories apply, but based on the situation you described in your question, you can claim $1,000 as an exception to the additional tax due to emergency personal expenses, but the remaining $5,000 would be subject to the 10% early withdrawal penalty.

yes this is the key to allowing import to complete successfully. i replied no with other browsers and with edge browser and import fails . but replying allow or yes to message popup worked. I'm going back to brave browser for the next import and see if that will work. giving TT access to all network drives seems a bit of an ask . TT , put on you big boy pants and provide explanation to user as to why this permission is needed.

Pending means that the state has yet to accept your tax return. It may just take a few more days for it to go through and be accepted by New York. Once your return is accepted, you will be notified that it has been accepted or rejected. If it is rejected, you will be able to correct the issue and try again. Please see the following links for more information.

What do you mean by "the home was in all four of our names"?
If you INHERITED the house, your basis (the value) is the Fair Market Value on the date of passing.
If you OWNED the house, your basis (the value) is what you paid or the Fair Market Value when you were added to the deed.
If you were on a "Life Estate Deed" your basis (the value) is the Fair Market Value on the date of passing.
If you are unsure, obtain legal advice first.

Are you older than 59 1/2?
If you aren't, is there another exception?
Unfortunately, I can't see your 5329.
Did the provider supply a new 1099-R?
If the provider has sent you a corrected 1099-R report, only the corrected one.
If they haven't, you should contact them.
If you haven't filed the return, you can correct it directly in your forms.
If you've already filed the tax return, you must wait for it to be processed and then amend the return.

Thank you.
You are not the original person who posted the question, you seem to be a new person and may have different facts.
What is this "gift" you are talking about? Who owned the home, and who was the recipient of the gift? That may change things, and may need to be reported separately. Gifts are not tax deductible and don't adjust your cost basis.

1. Because she intends to move back to Connecticut and not make North Carolina her home (at least for now) she would file as a nonresident for North Carolina.
2. North Carolina allows you to file a separate state return if you are a nonresident with no North Carolina income. However, to do so, you have to create a MFS federal return (NOT FILED) using her information and income only to file the North Carolina separate return (and you must mail the faux return with your North Carolina return, see How do I prepare a joint federal return and separate state ).
Because you are both nonresident, if you filed North Carolina as a joint return, your income would not be taxed, but North Carolina uses the total income to determine the tax rate applied to the income so your may pay more tax using this method.
The process itself is simple if you go step by step.

It is normal and correct for the 1099-NEC to be issued for the full amount of the commissions earned.
The repayment of the loan (or any other expenses directly deducted before commissions are paid out) should be listed as expenses on your Schedule C. Your tax is computed on your net income after all expenses (including those that were withheld from commissions.) @kayedeanne

Yes, you are correct. The income is 100% excludable from gross income under IRS Reg. § 1.104-1(b). If the software isn't handling this correctly, I would suggest the following entry.
Go to Wages & Income
Less Common Income
Miscellaneous Income
Other Reportable Income.
Enter a description like: "Excludable Disability Pension per RS Reg. § 1.104-1(b
Enter the amount as a negative number (e.g., -50,000).
This cancels the 1099-R income on your 1040 while keeping the 1099-R itself on the record to prevent a "missing form" audit.

Since your wife didn't have any non-deductible contributions to her account, did she take any distributions from any of her IRA accounts? If she didn't take any money out of or put any money into an IRA with non-deductible contributions, then a form 8606 will not generate for her.
If your wife took a distribution from her IRA, the question will appear in the interview flow of TurboTax to ask if she had any non-deductible contributions.
