I completely agree!  I've been a TurboTax user for well over 20 years, dating back to when TaxCut was sold to H&R Block and TurboTax emerged as the leading individual software package.  It has generally worked well for me; but this year has been a disappointment.  If TurboTax can't publish their "new, improved" subroutine for estimating noncash charitable contributions, then PLEASE just bring back It's Deductible!  TurboTax seems to have lots of money to spend on expensive advertising (anyone watch the NFL playoffs?), but can't seem to allocate resources to keep up with tax law changes and/or update their software for simple things like noncash charitable contributions!

Are you still having problems with this?   It could be that something got stuck. You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

On your form 1095-A, column A shows the actual monthly cost of your insurance policy.    Column B shows the Second lowest cost Silver plan (SLCSP). This is used to calculate your final premium tax credit, when you file your tax return.   Column C shows your monthly advance tax credit.   The premium you pay each month is the difference between Column A and column C.

You will receive a final decision of whether you are approved for a Refund Advance after you file your taxes and the IRS accepts your return.    You won't receive your funds until the IRS starts accepting returns, which is typically late January.   See TurboTax Help here.

Could you clarify which itemized deductions are missing from your New York State return so we can provide assistance?

It depends.  Yes, if the state where you did not physically earn the income is your resident state and that resident state charges state income tax.  Most states that have a state income tax, taxes you on income you earn from all sources.    If you live in a state that has an income tax, and you earn money in a non-resident state, (and there is no reciprocal agreement between the states) do the non-resident state return FIRST.  Next do your resident return and you will get credit for the tax paid to the non-resident state.
The bar where you type in won’t take any input there just is a blue bar something suspicious here like intuit wants money from me
