Honesty, these people writing in defense of Turbo Tax and AGAINST the self employed people are arrogant and dumb. The example of paying someone $45 to mow the lawn instead of $30 was just plain arrogant!  Do you think the self-employed are stupid?  We run a small LLC, two person, and get tip income.  Hourly rate is always $85/hour plus materials.  We ALWAYS keep track of TIP income and report it -- we have since the business started in the early 2000's.  We need to also because we don't want to pay sales tax on TIPS but we have to pay sales tax on regular labor income.  Do you think we don't know how to run a business?  We are EXACTLY the type of people whom the no tax on tips law was written for.  And to say that maybe we would commit fraud due to this is just plain asinine.  If someone wanted to do that they could have all along.
A reply I got from a tax expert on how to manually update TurboTax worked.  My tax return has now been accepted

I guess I'm going to have to contact them about this; luckily I was waiting only waiting for the DMSH election for my rentals so I noticed my return amount dropped from the last update.

My employer listed NJ temporary state disability payments under third party sick pay but they only listed about 30-40 percent of the total amount I received from the state. Is not the whole amount I received from the state taxable for federal tax purposes?

Hello,   I was injured at work by a third party who was not my employer. Several months later, the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries issued me a settlement check that they had negotiated on my behalf with the individual responsible for the accident. Based on the information I have found, it appears that such settlements are generally not considered taxable income. Could you please confirm whether this settlement is subject to taxation?   Thank you for your assistance.
