What date are you trying to change? You likely have to use a current date in 2026, but to be sure, I would need to know where you are putting this date.

It asks "Did you pay for more than half of Ryan's living expenses in 2025?" And I checked yes. I've double checked and tripled checked and checked again. I really don't know what I'm missing, unless I'm misinformed on how the credit works for disabled adult children.

It is showing my full contribution as excess on form 5329, however when I am going through all the prompts it specifically says that my contributions are under the limit and I have no excess contributions. Yet tax is still being calculated on the full amount.

I have also been receiving the nonsensical reply about Form 3903. It is now January 21. How is it possible that TurboTax still does not have the Retirement Income section available? There are probably millions of TurboTax users who are being held up by this delay. Does anyone at TurboTax care?

@SteamTrain - called TT support, waited on hold 45 min and told the rep about this. Her comment was to leave this on the community. I asked her to escalate to the “Bug” fix team. Not sure whether TT customer support will escalate. The workaround is to delete form input for box 17 and go into step by step mode to enter it as it has a pull down for the state. I think the lookup table of the state abbreviation is not yet linked from forms entry mode.

No, you can't deduct those items if you are not the owner. All the bills should be paid by the estate, not by you or any other person personally, until the estate is settled. If you have been approved by the probate court to be the administrator of the estate, then you should be allowed to reimburse yourselves from the proceeds of the estate before the balance of the estate is distributed to the heirs. You may want an attorney to help you with the estate at this point. If you have not been approved as the administrator, then nothing should be paid until someone volunteers to be administrator (or an executor is named in a Will) and that person is approved by the court.
