Did you get the email from Costco with the License Code?  Better check back through your emails and in  the junk/spam folder etc.   I bought from Costco too.  Costco sends the email with the Code.     12/1/25 Bought Home&Business from Costco online on sale for only $85.99. When I finally got the Software Activation Keys email (email took an hours to get) I clicked on Download link. It took me directly to Turbo Tax to download. Had to pick my product then select Win or Mac. Program downloaded.
This occurs when asking if my info has change. I uncheck the boxes that no longer apply. The Continue button does not have a link to progress to the next page.

I ordered turbotax deluxe from costco was to download in 2 hrs, Two days later I have still not received the code to download, costco says they have sent the info to turbotax and for some reason they won't send the code. I have tried to contact turbotax but since they have gone woke they will not let me talk to a person who can answer my question. Where is my turbotax download? I guess I will have to get my money back and go with a different company that cares about customer service
Thank you so very, very much VOLVO GIRL,  Been trying to understand WHY this was happening.  YOU answered my question, thanking you immensely

I am an independent contractor, commission only. We file married jointly. We've been in the same tax bracket for years, but my last check of 2025 puts our income in the next higher tax bracket. Will I have to pay back or higher taxes on all our income for the year?

You can stretch the time requirements if the reason you moved out was due to military or foreign service orders.  The maximum stretch is 10 years, meaning you would have to have lived in the home for 2 years of the past 15.  That seems impossible given the time line you described (moved out 16 years ago).   Otherwise, there are no special capital gains tax breaks for selling second homes or any other kind of asset or property, other than the fact that all long term capital gains are taxed lower than regular income.  The tax code is set up to encourage residential home ownership, and does not give the same breaks to landlords or vacation homes.

Does the time the home was owned and fact that it was once primary residence reduce capital gains at all.     No.  If you have not lived in and owned the home for at least two years in the five year period on the date of sale, you are not eligible for the home sale exemption.  The sale is reported as an investment sale and any gain on the sale it taxed as capital gains.

Bottles is a linux app that lets you run SOME windows programs in Linux so I would try that app or Wine.

Turbotax Desktop: 1) I believe I saw somewhere that when entering Non Covered Long Term Investments, no adjustments on Form 8949 that 0 (zero) needs to be entered in column "g" in order for TT to accept.  Is that true? 2) If above is true are there any other entries NOT included in instructions ( or tips)that need to be addressed when entering investments on Form 8949?

After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.   If you e-filed your tax return using online editions there will be an Electronic Postmark Report included with the PDF download.  It will show the date/time the tax return was e-filed and the date it Accepted by the IRS, if Accepted.   To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/ Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)   If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.   If you filed the 2021 tax return and it was accepted by the IRS, there will be a 2021 transcript available. Go to this IRS website for free transcripts of a federal tax return - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript   Go to this IRS website to sign on to your IRS account which will have a list of your filings, payments and refunds - https://www.irs.gov/payments/online-account-for-individuals

I think you need a copy of your tax returns.  If you didn't get the Stimulus checks,  the Recovery Rebate Credit will be on 1040 line 30.   How to Access prior year online returns https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/prior-year-return/help/how-do-i-access-my-prior-year-return/00/27010 If you can't get the side menus to open up to access the prior year..... You need to start entering some basic Personal Info in 2025 for the side menu to open up. Just continue a little ways into 2025. I had to go though about 12 screens. If you used the Desktop CD/Download program then the only copy is on your computer and not saved or stored online. So you need to make and keep your own backups. Or request a transcript from the IRS https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript Or get a copy of your return using form 4506 https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf

You can deduct the expenses paid that are usual and customary for your business. If you have no documentation like a receipt those expenses might be disallowed if audited. If you paid with your own art work you can only claim the cost of your supplies and not your labor. If a valued art work by someone else you would have to have it appraised to establish its value. In addition you are bartering which has its own tax implications.
