2025 update. This problem is preventing me from e-filing my amended 2024 return, even though TT says you should be able to do it this year. I called their Resource Desk, who were clueless but said they would "escalate it." They also said wait for updates 🤣. You can't e-file till Jan 26, so I will try again then but I doubt that's the problem. It appears to be a software glitch. Does anyone know of any tax software that allows you to e-file an amended return? But, even if there is, I guess we would have to enter the original return and the amended return? That would be a lot of work. Thanks, TT!

Where did you see that?   Yes you get it when itemizing too.  But There is a max.  The phaseout is 6% of the amount by which MAGI exceeds $75,000 for single or $150,000 for married filing jointly (MFJ).  I’ll  look for the IRS info on it.   The 6,000/12,000 senior deduction will be calculated on 1040 Schedule 1-A page 2 Part V Enhanced Deduction for Seniors which goes to 1040 line 13b. It is separate and in addition to the Standard Deduction or your Itemized Deductions on 1040 line 12e. Turbo Tax automatically includes it if you qualify.   1040 Schedule 1-A, page 2 Part V Enhanced Deduction for Seniors https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040s1a.pdf
Never mind.  Found it allows entry of total miles.

Yes I have access to my phone and that phone number. That is not the point. I do NOT want a phone to be able to receive a code that allows access to my account. I want access to my account to be restricted to ONLY the use of the authenticator app.
Any tax withholding overpayment will be included in your tax refund or it will reduce the amount of taxes owed.
