To print your return:   TurboTax Online Go to Tax Home > Your tax returns & documents > 2025 > Access my return. Left menu: Tax Tools > Print Center. Choose “Print, save, or preview this year’s return.” Select “Include government and worksheets,” then Save as PDF. TurboTax Desktop File > Save to PDF (or Print Center), select “All forms and worksheets.”   With a $400 balance, it sounds like you might have chosen TurboTax Live Assisted or Live Full Service pricing. To avoid that, switch to a DIY product: Removing Live Assisted/Full Service: Go to File > Step 1 Review your order > Remove/Cancel Live add-on (or “Remove benefits”). This keeps your data. Downgrading product tier (e.g., Premium to Deluxe): Not always allowed mid-return. If downgrade button isn’t offered in Review your order, you must use Clear & Start Over to change tiers—but only if you haven’t paid/e-filed. That would erase entries.

Hi there, I filed my 2025 Form 1040, but it's rejected due to incomplete Form 8915F. Printed out the same form and filled it out: the amounts on Ln. 23 and Ln. 26 ended different than the amounts on the Form in TT. I used Worksheet 4 from IRS Instructions to figure out the taxable amount for 2025 year. Should I correct the amounts on TT Form 8915F and file the return again or wait for software update, which can take a quite long time? To be precise:   2024 Disaster Distribution $5000, spread over 3 years.                              First yr Taxable amount is $1667.   Thanks!

Folks:  I purchased the Turbotax 2025 ONLINE version from Amazon in January 2026.  Amazon told me to activate my ONLINE version using turbotax.com/activate.  By that time I had already started my return and when I try to activate my purchase Turbotax says there is a return already associated with my account and I should try a different account. No kidding.  Why?  I'm just trying get credit for what I've already paid for.  I just spent 53 minutes on a call with Turbotax support.  They have NO idea how to fix this.  They keep telling me to download and install the product.  NO!  I'm using the ONLINE version for a reason (Turbotax is not supporting Windows 10 anymore and I don't have a windows 11 computer).  Support needs better info for the online version for sure.  Why is this so difficult?

Something to consider: Remember that the Maryland pension exclusion limit is reduced by the amount of your Social Security benefits.  If your Social Security benefits exceed the full pension exclusion limit, none of your pension income is excludible because the exclusion limit is reduced to zero.

No. TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.      First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.     You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2025 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:    https://www.irs.gov/refunds   To track your state refund:     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr   If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/refunds-take-longer-others/L14YlqFrH_US_en_US?uid=lexdr7zh . https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/irs-refund-taking-longer-21-days/L2vRAJbdU_US_en_US?uid=lexe7lst         If you are getting earned income credit on line 27 or additional child tax credit on line 28 You are subject to the delay required by the PATH act.  Do not expect your refund before early March   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/internal-revenue-service/federal-refunds-delayed-due-path-act/L5jnQJsBi_US_en_US   Note:  “Accepted” is not the same as “approved”.  TurboTax tells you the e-file was accepted if the IRS deems that there is enough information on the return for them to take it in for processing.   Only the IRS can approve of the refund, which is a later stage of processing.  If the IRS approves your refund they will provide a date for the refund to be issued.   FROM THE IRS WHERE’S MY REFUND SITE: https://www.irs.gov/wheres-my-refund How it works Where's My Refund shows your refund status: Return Received – We received your return and are processing it. Refund Approved – We approved your refund and are preparing to issue it by the date shown. Refund Sent – We sent the refund to your bank or to you in the mail. It may take 5 days for it to show in your bank account or several weeks for your check to arrive in the mail.

That message usually means one of the following:   You’re in the wrong product/year (opened TurboTax 2024 or a preview/beta instead of 2025). Your program isn’t updated to the latest e-file transmission update. A required form (federal or state) in your return isn’t yet approved/available for e-file, so TurboTax blocks transmission until it is. If you are using TurboTax Desktop, please log into your program and select Online, Check for updates in the top menu.   If you are using TurboTax Online, please log out of the program, clear your cache, and then log back in.     If you must file today and are still getting the message: Print, sign, and mail the return.

It's not under Other Tax Situations. It's under Deductions & Credits. Go to Federal Taxes > Deductions & Credits > Estimates and Other Taxes Paid > Other Income Taxes > 2024 refund applied to 2025 federal taxes. To apply your overpayment from 2024 to 2025 you had to select that option in your 2024 tax return. If you did that, the amount would be on your 2024 Form 1040 line 36. If it's not there on your 2024 tax return you can't apply it now. If you did apply the overpayment on your 2024 tax return to 2025, and you filed with TurboTax for 2024, and you transferred information from your 2024 tax return when you started your 2025 tax return, the payment should have been transferred. It would be included on your 2025 Form 1040 line 26, together with any estimated tax payments that you made for 2025. If it's not there, you can enter the amount that you applied from 2024 as I indicated above.
Thank you the person that went thru this. You saved me a lot of time. Its obvious Turbo Tax still has not fixed this legitimate problem of 1099-LTC.

@Serranopr wrote: Question for you, did you have other real energy improvements that you claimed in earlier sections of this form, or none?  I did have real credits to file for earlier in the form, but I do not have electrical sub-panel improvements that I can file which is where 25a is located.  Should I simply edit the desktop version of this form in 25a and answer no?  The form is confusing as that section also seems to include worksheet info on other forms of energy upgrades. Hi @Serranopr in case these were directed at me I'll answer each one below.   Question for you, did you have other real energy improvements that you claimed in earlier sections of this form, or none?   Yes, in section B of form 5695 I had improvements to claim in box 22a for a central air conditioner upgrade which gave me the full $600 credit allowed. Just to note those workaround steps I provided were for the online version only so not the desktop version.  I  did not make any panel/subpanel upgrades so the workaround steps provided earlier allowed me to force TT to generate the correct NO answer I was looking to fix.  You could equally follow those steps and force TT to answer Yes if needed.  For your desktop version, I think you should just mark 25a as a No if these did not apply.  Answering Yes to box 25a is not a requirement to qualify for other prior credits.
Can you clarify the error you are getting?  Thanks! @ambernickerson0420
