If you're lucky, the *.tax2024 data file may have only become dissociated from the TurboTax interface.   If using the Windows version, look first in the Documents\TurboTax folder, which is the default location.   If not there, do a search of your entire computer system for any file ending in *.tax2024 and also look in the Recycle Bin or Trash.   If your computer has more than one user account, such as a Windows admin account and a user account, do the search in each Windows account.   A user reported his had been moved to the admin account.   If you have any backup system like OneDrive, Time Machine, etc. also look there.   Because of stories like this that occasionally turn up in this user forum,  I've gotten accustomed to backing up my data file to a thumb drive after every working session as a "just in case" maneuver.

Thanks again for the detailed responses—super helpful. To clarify: my W-2 comes from a payroll services entity that has a different EIN than the entity listed on my K-1. However, it's all part of the same overarching business. The K-1 comes from the main holding company, and I receive both every year (but not at the same time of course). The business includes a mix of operations, including real estate. Why would getting a k1 and w2 on a yearly cadence not common? A few more points I’m hoping to clarify: Box 14 on my K-1 has always been blank. Box 1 and Box 2 show losses this year and previous years. My goal is to determine if I should be considered as materially participating, especially since I’m actively employed by the same business (just technically via the payroll entity). Here’s where I’m really stuck: Even if everything is marked as passive TurboTax is still having me pay tax on Box 5 (interest income)—but only if I check “Yes” to material participation. Is that correct behavior? I would have thought that if everything is passive (including Box 5), the interest would be offset by passive losses in Box 1/2, or at least not trigger tax on its own. Is it possible that TurboTax is misclassifying the interest income if I check “material participation”? Or is there a rule I’m missing about how Box 5 interest gets treated differently? Thanks again—really appreciate the insights here.
Report your income and expenses with the information on the forms you received on Schedule C.
No deduction unless the loan is secured by a lien on your home and that is clearly documented.
I moved from Kayla's ridge rd Connelly springs to Oliver Childers rd Connelly springs and didn't get my w2s
"The Health Equity rep told me that a corrected 1099-SA will be issued after they process the $777 excess contribution."   They are mistaken.
I missed the document that I was supposed to pay in April. I want to pay it.

No, at age 95 my dad doesn't have the cognitive capacity to create his own IRS account, and there's no one in the facility that I trust to help him. That's why I asked if I could create it on his behalf.   I tried helping him create an account when I last visited, but ID.me blocked it for an unspecified reason. There was nothing we could do. It took about two weeks until they said he could try again, and by then I was back home, halfway across the country.

To avoid a penalty you have to pay the full amount in one payment for the period in which the sale took place. For a sale in April or May of 2025 you have to make the estimated tax payment by June 16, 2025. (The due date is normally June 15. You get an extra day this year because June 15 is a Sunday.)

I am confused:-( The Health Equity rep told me that a corrected 1099-SA will be issued after they process the $777 excess contribution.  The excess contribution is for 2024.  Tax filing deadline for 2024 for North Carolina is 9/15/2025.  I have already filed my 2024 tax return so I should file an amended 2024 tax return after the $777 excess is removed.   The rep didn't say the 1099-SA to be issued is a  2025 1099-SA (wouldn't that be available in 2026?), she said a corrected 1099-SA will be issued.   I just have to wait to see happens.

If you are not seeing a Tax Home tab in the left menu column, it means you haven't proceeded far enough into the 2024 return interview to have a full menu that includes Tax Home.  Once you proceed further, the menu options change.   See more info below.   This answer assumes your prior returns were prepared in Online TurboTax.   Any return prepared in desktop TurboTax will not be in an Online account.  Here's how one would normally find past-year online returns and how to troubleshoot for multiple accounts (User IDs) if necessary.  Many people end up with more than 1 account.  The pathway to download the PDF or tax data file depends on whether or not you have started an online 2024 return.  I provide both scenarios below, so choose which one is appropriate for your situation.   If you have not yet started a 2024 online return: Sign in to your account.   What you see next depends on whether or not you have already started a 2024 return in that account.   If your left column menu is minimal, and does not have a Tax Home tab displayed, that would imply you have not started preparing a 2024 return in that account.  If you haven't yet started a return, it will start asking you some questions.  Answer those preliminary questions (you don't actually have to prepare a return), and then when you are far enough into the process the left menu column will change, and you'll then see a Tax Home option.  Do not click the Documents tab.  Instead, click on Tax Home.  Then on the Tax Home screen, scroll way down to the bottom to "Your Tax Returns & Documents".  Expand that section and choose the past year you want.   If your past returns are not shown there, then you likely have multiple accounts and signed into the wrong one.  I'll tell you below how to troubleshoot.   If you have already started or finished a 2024 online return: Log in, and if you've already started a 2024 return in that account, then it may already open at the Tax Home.  If not, click the Tax Home tab in the left column menu.  Do not use the Documents tab.  At the Tax Home scroll down and expand "Your Tax Returns & Documents."   If the past returns are not there, see the steps below.   If you do all that and can't find the past returns, here's how to look for multiple accounts: You can have up to 5 accounts that use the same email address for notification purposes.  A User ID may be an email address, but it doesn't have to be.  It might be only part of an email address, or it can be anything at all.   To get a list of your User IDs, reset password, and recover account access, etc., you can use the tool at the link below.  When using the Account Recovery tool, try using your phone number first if you can still access it.   After that, if necessary, then run the tool on your email address(es) you can access. NOTE: Before running the account recovery tool below, log out of all Intuit accounts including this user forum, or you might end up in a loop.  Then clear your browser Internet cache, close your browser, then reopen it, and go to the link below.  You may wish to copy this link so you can paste it into the new browser session. https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery If still no luck after running that on your phone number you can still access and email address(es) that you can access,  here's another method:          Go back to the tool again, but this time leave the data field blank, scroll down a bit, then choose the small blue link that says "Try something else", and it will look you up by other parameters.
How can I tell if Turbo Tax submitted this to the IRS? I can see in my state taxes I didn't pay a penalty. (I made 90% of my yearly income after September 1st, 2024).
